Niall's POV
It's been about a month and a half since Lyric and I tried for a baby. Ever since then she's been over the moon with happiness. Just by being around her the happiness would grow on you. It would leave you smiling no matter how bad your day has been. I just was coming back from the store when I got a call from my mum.
"Ello mum! How are ya?" I said answering the phone, putting the bags from the store in the backseat.
"Hi honey, I'm good how about yourself?" She asked, I got into the car, and started to drive home.
"Never been better!!" I gladly said.
"Well, what I was calling for is your father and I would like to know if you'd like to come to lunch with us tomorrow." She asked.
" Of course mum anything for you! Is everything all right?"
"Yes everything is fine, we just miss you Niall, and Lyric too. It's hard when you two live close to two hours away." She said sounding upset.
"Please don't get upset mum, you always welcome to come stay if you'd like." I said trying to cheer her up. " How about Lyric and I come down tomorrow and stay the night?" "I mean you haven't changed my room around right?" I said teasingly.
"Oh that would be wonderful!!" She beamed. "How could I ever change your room? You'll never know when you will need a place to stay."
"Okay mum I will see you tomorrow love ya!" I said pulling into the driveway.
"I love you too Niall, tell Lyric I love her too." She said.
"I will see ya later mum."
"See ya sweetie."I hung up the phone. After that I grabbed the bags, went inside, unloaded and put everything away. I heard lyric moving around upstairs.
"Hey Babe mum says she loves you!! I yelled from the kitchen.
"Niall!! Hurry get up here quick! I don't want to do this with out you!" Shocked about what I just heard I sprinted upstairs to see what she was doing.
" C'mon come in here with me I've been waiting for about for about fifteen minutes for you to get back." She said grabbing my hand, and pulling me into the bathroom. She took her free hand and covered her eyes. Once I realized what she was covering her eyes from i noticed there were pregnancy tests on the counter.
"Tell me what they say." She whispered. I let go of her hand and looked at all five tests. When I read them all it seemed like my heart stop beating. They all read pregnant. I looked over to Lyric who still had her hand over her eyes that were squeezed shut. A few tears left my eyes knowing now that I was finally going to be a daddy, and that she was finally going to be a mommy. I walked over to her and took her hand off her eyes and she opened them. She looked in my face for the answer. I leaned down and kissed her, letting my happiness take over. I pulled out of kiss, and looked at her and grinned ear to ear.
"Congratulations Mommy." I said grinning. The facial expression she made was priceless.
"Wait you mean, I'm going to be a mum?" She smiled.
"Go see for yourself." I said. Lyric then slipped out of my grip and went over and looked. She brought her hands up to her mouth. She turned to me with tears in her eyes,
"Niall... We're going to be parents." After she said that the tears just started to flow not just from her but the both of us. She came over to me, and gave me a warm hug.
"I love you Niall." She said reaching up and wiping my tears as I did the same with hers.
"I love you too Lyric."
" We're going to have to make an appointment for today, to see how are little baby has been doing."
"Okay, you go get dressed and I will make the appointment for you." Lyric then went to out bedroom to get ready and I went to call the doctor. I walked down stairs to get our doctors number off the emergency contact number sheet that was placed on the fridge. I quickly dialed the number, and made an appointment for noon since it was ten thirty. I went back upstairs to our room to see Lyric dressed in a beautiful red and white striped summer dress with a jean jacket over it.
"Taking much advantage of the nice weather I see?" I asked.
"Of course! When London throws good weather at you, you take as much of it as you can." She teased.
"Well the appointment is at noon, so we should get going since it's about a forty-five minute drive." I told her. She slipped on her shoes and said,
"Okay babe, I 'm ready, let's go." I followed her out of our room, and to the car. We got in drove off. About fifteen in to the drive I remembered that my mom wanted us to come over.
"Do you want to go to my mom and dads tomorrow?" I asked. I looked over to see Lyric have a few tears streaming down her cheeks. I reached my hand over and rubbed her leg soothingly.
" Honey, whats the matter?" I asked. I tried my best to look at her, but I also had to keep my eyes on the road. She squeezed my hand and said,
" Just sad that our baby only have one set of grandparents."
"Awe babe, the baby will always have two sets just one set is in heaven, and we will always let them know." I smiled. Lyrics parents died in a car crash in tenth grade.
"So when are we leaving to go to your parents house." She asked.
"We will probably go around ten if that's alright?"
"Yeah, that's fine, are we staying over?" She asked taking my hand that was on her thigh, and she held it in her own playing with my fingers.
"Yeah, mom said she missed us so I told her we would." I replied. She sat there quietly thinking then a huge smile broke out on her face.
"Niall! I have the perfect idea!" She grinned giving my hand a squeeze.
"Well what is it?" I asked trying to find a parking spot.
"How about when we get done with the appointment, we go home pack our stuff for your parents house, and then we go shopping and buy mom and dad something announcing that they are grandparents!" She excitedly said.
"Sounds like a great idea! We can just go to the mall a few exists before mom and dads place and get them something!" I smiled looking at her as we unbuckled ourselves, and got out. I took Lyrics hand and went into the doctors office. We checked in and waited for what seemed like forever. I kept telling Lyric that the doctors were taking forever.
"Niall we've only been waiting here for five minutes." She smiled at me.
"Well I want to see my baby." I pouted.
"We just got to patient. We'll see it very soon." She said giving my hand a quick squeeze.
"Lyric Horan?" A nurse with black scrub pants, and a pink tie-dye scrub shirt, called from out side the wooden door. Lyric stood up and reached for my hand. When I stood up next to her she whispered,
"Let's go see our baby." We followed the bubbly nurse down the hall until she finally stopped at one of the rooms. She led us in, and had Lyric lay down on the bed/table thing.
"So the doctor will be here in a few minutes. Here is a blanket for your lap, because I'm going to need you to pull up your dress and be ready for when the doctor comes in." She smiled.
"Okay, thanks." Lyric said. The nurse left the room, Lyric pulled of her jacket, pulled up dress till just a little bit below her bra. She covered her legs with the blanket. A few minutes later the doctor knocked on the door.
"Come in." Lyric gently said. The doctor came in and gave us both a big grin.
" How are you all doing?"
"Great." Lyric and I both replied. He turned on the big machine, and told Lyric to lay back. She searched for my hand, which I grabbed a hold of. He squirted the jell in a circular motion, he then took this little wand and rubbed the jell stuff in with it.
"Are you ready to see your baby?" We both smiled. A few seconds later, a little tiny peanut type thing appeared on the screen.
"There it is." He smiled. He continued looking around making sure everything was okay. I peeled my eyes away from the screen to look at Lyric. I noticed she had a few tears slipping out of her eyes. I bent down next to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Huh, well isn't that funny." The doctor said.
"What is everything okay?" Lyric and I said at the same time.
"Mr and Mrs. Horan, congratulations, your having twins." It felt like my heart had exploded with happiness. I looked at lyric who was in tears. I bent down and gave her another kiss on the cheek, as the doctor printed out pictures of our babies.
"Here are a few pictures of the babies. Oh and also the babies should be due on December 24th, seeing that your already eight weeks along. But with twins you never know when they will come, some twins come a few weeks before there due date and some come exactly on it. " He said handing lyric and I pictures of the ultrasound.
"Now lyric, your going to have to be even more cautious about what you do. I want to you to take these vitamins starting tomorrow. They are just in case you don't get enough nutrients each day from what you are eating. Which I expect it to be lots of healthy foods. Now I'm not saying you can eat snacking foods, but just remember you have two little ones inside of you now and they need to grow and become strong." He handed lyric a prescription for the vitamins and left the room. I grabbed some paper towels and wiped of the jell of Lyric's stomach, as she looked at the pictures from the sonogram.
"Can you believe it Niall? These are our little babies!" She grinned sitting up and showing me some of the pictures. She then took of the blanket of her lap, stood up and fixed her dress.
"I can't believe it, it is so shocking! Wait till we tell mom and dad!" I smiled.
"Oh Niall, your mom won't know what to think." Lyric grinned giving me a hug. I placed a kiss on her forehead. I took her hand, and led her out of the doctors office.
"Let's go get ready, for mom and dads house." I said starting the car.
"Sounds like a plan to me! I can wait to show your mom these pictures!" She said.
"I love you Lyric." I leaned over for a kiss.
"I love you too Niall." She met me in the middle where we shared a kiss. I then drove off, thinking about how excited it was to finally be a dad. I can't wait!
