It was the middle of the night when Hope had to wake up Raven. They had survived their first long bus ride and would have to get off to wait for the next.
Ravens head was leaning on Hopes shoulder, it caused Hope to slightly freak out but other than that it was comforting.
She hated to do it but Hope gently nudged her shoulder and brought her hand to Ravens leg.
With a quiet voice Hope spoke, "Hey, it's time wake up. This is our stop."
Ravens eyes fluttered open. She took in her surroundings trying to remember where she was. She looked up to Hope who had a small smile on her face.
Raven squinted her eyes and quietly responded, "What'd you say?"
"I said it's time for us to go." Hope's smile grew and she nodded her head in the direction of the door before standing up. She grabbed their bags and waited for Raven to follow.
Raven slowly got up and took her bag from Hope while a yawn escaped her lips.
The girls got off the bus and headed their way to the motel they booked prior. Their next bus wouldn't get their til early the next morning.
They checked in and went up to their room.
When the girls walked in, instead of the double they had requested their was only a single bed.
Hope spoke up, " Okay then, are we sure this is the right room?"
"Yeah. You know if it's fine with you I really don't mind. I'm tired as hell, plus the rest of the place is already booked." Raven sleepily said as she looked towards Hope.
Hope eyes widened slightly, "Yeah sure, I don't mind." She closed the door behind them and walked further into the room, "Well you should get some sleep, I'm gonna freshen up."
She walked off with her bag to the bathroom and swiftly closed the door. She looked herself in the mirror, breathing heavily.
She scrunched her face and lightly paced around the bathroom before whispering to herself.
"Why are you nervous, their is no need to be freaking out right now. It's not a big deal your just sharing a bed, you've done it before. Just calm down."
Outside the bathroom on the bed was Raven. She quickly changed into more comfortable clothes and went under the covers.
She looked up at the ceiling trying to control her breathing.
'Why are you freaking out right now, oh my god just get some sleep already. You were just tired how are you suddenly wide awake.'
She heard the bathroom door open and Hope walked out in a set of pajamas.
She walked over to the bed, pulled up the covers and made her way into the bed.
She reached over to the lamp to turn it off.
"Can you keep it on please. I can't sleep in the dark." Raven desperately whispered.
Hope turned back to Raven and lightly frowned. She could hear the fear in her voice.
"Yeah sure." She shuffled back into bed and got comfortable, "Good night Raven."
"Night Hope."
Raven moved to her side away from Hope and tried to let her exhaustion consume her. It took her awhile but she managed to fall asleep.
Hope stayed awake starring at the light.
Her mind was awake and not sleeping anytime soon.
All she could think about was her family. She hadn't seen them in awhile, the last to visit her was her uncle Kol and aunt Davina, when they brought more grimoires and dark objects for her and the school.
The idea of seeing them again was really stressing her out. Although she deeply loved them, they wouldn't even know her. How was she going to make them remember her, make them feel their love for her again.
She needed their help.
Although they forgot her, she still has a bit of hope that they'll help her, they have to. Always and Forever has to mean something.
She stayed awake for a half hour when she heard whimpering coming from Raven. She turned her body to face her and noticed she was trembling.
She ran her hand along her arm trying to calm her down, "Raven hey wake up, it's just a nightmare."
Raven kept crying and opened her eyes.
"No it wasn't."
She was sniffling trying to calm down, her lip quivering.
"It was real, I was there for months and no came."
Hope felt her breath get caught in her throat, "Where Raven?" She hesitantly asked her.
Raven rolled her body to face Hope and looked her in the eyes.
"Malivore"
Hopes eyes widened and started to water. Her mouth gapped open while she tried to process.
Raven brows moved closer as she noticed the expression on Hopes face.
"You've heard of it, haven't you?"
Hopes train of thought went back on Raven who's face was just a few inches from hers.
She cleared her throat looked Raven in the eyes.
"I've been in it too. I just got out actually."
She looked down at the bed and licked her dry lips, remembering the emptiness of Malivore.
Ravens eyes softened and she looked at Hope.
"I'm sorry, I hate feeling this way and wouldn't put it on anyone..." she scrunched her eyebrows and asked, " when you say you just got out, did it happen to be three days ago, in the dark of night?"
Hope looked back up into Ravens eyes, "Yeah. Something tells me we got out the same time." She cleared her throat and continued, "Maybe we left together and don't remember. It could explain why, why I feel like we've met before, why you feel so... familiar to me. Like we knew each other before any of this."
Fatigue hit Raven like a brick wall all of a sudden when she yawned.
"That would explain a lot, maybe we'll find some answers in New Orleans, I know for a fact that the place is littered with witches left and right. We could try and figure it out... together?"
A light smile spread across Hopes face and she nodded, "Even better, my aunt Freya can help. She doesn't remember me now because of Malivore making her forget, but I'll find a way for her to trust me. She's a powerful witch, we'll need her on our side."
Raven eyes were fighting to stay open and when small smile was spread on her face.
"Yeah, that sounds great. I want to hear more about this but maybe we should finish this discussion in the morning. I'm barely awake right now and can hardly keep my eyes open." Raven said with a soft voice.
"Yeah we should get some sleep before our bus ride tomorrow. We'll talk some more in the morning." Hope agreed, allowing Raven to get some sleep.
Ravens eyes slowly closed and she fell asleep. Neither of the girls moved from their previous positions. They were both still facing each other, faces inches away.
