Elsewhere, Katrina and her Pokémon safely take our heroes to the Pokémon Preserve Center, which is her log cabin house and a farm work, thus revealing to be their job, due to them looking after the Wild Pokémon by feeding them with good food+medication and healing their wounds.
Katrina also revealed that her Poochyena are born at the same time as the first 3 Mightyena that are once Poochyena. On top of that, her Poochyena only has Tackle and has not engaged any battling/training experience, which explains why her 4th and finale Poochyena isn't ready to evolve into Mightyena
Max wanted to help Katrina's Poochyena evolve into a Mightyena by planning to to train it carefully
May wonders what if happens if her Torchic finally evolved, she imagined it to be having a muscular body, but she decides to move on from imagining it by using her Pokédex. In return, she finds out that a Torchic evolves into a Combusken. She's happy to know about this. She and Max learn from Ash and Brock learn that Pokémon evolving comes from the battles, training and the travels.
There are also certain Pokémon that evolve through the special ways like the Evolution Stones or the bonds of friendship mastery ways.
May and Max learn that Ash's Pikachu is not interested of evolving by the way.

May's Torchic defeats Katrina's Poochyena and Max with Ember
Max wanted to help Poochyena but Ash denied the wish, because engaging a fake battle wouldn't help out

Max and Poochyena are confronted by Team Rocket as Katrina and our heroes as well as their Pokémon come to the rescue

The Pokémon are safely retrieved thanks to Taillow. On top of that: Max's encouragement words convinced Katrina's Poochyena to finally use Bite to escape from the net. Team Rocket is now out thanks to Ash's Pikachu's ThunderBolt.
At the end of this episode: Katrina's Poochyena finally evolved into a Mightyena, it even thanks Max for helping it out
