She had no idea how long she had been sitting there watching the kids in the neighborhood play around even if it wasn't anywhere near evening. Maybe two hours?...three hours? She had no idea, whatsoever. Her days remembering those soft and tender emotions that she had acquired in the seven months that she had stayed in Busan and around
that man for whom she could give up her entire world, seemed to be the only things that she could live with. Was he fine?
Was he angry at her for leaving so abruptly?
She knew everybody now knew who she was in reality.
Jaehwa.
Kim Jaehwa Rosaline, the Lost Princess of Copenhagen.
Does he feel like she betrayed him?
Or on the contrary, her heart called out and tried soothing her by saying that maybe, just maybe he was happy, relieved even that she was alive. But Jaehwa would never know now, because she was far from him. He was far from her messed up life. Her messed up mind that had craved for revenge for over a decade had finally achieved what it wanted but at the cost of losing the only other living member of her family. The man that she grew up with, the traitor that she killed in front of him, the man that she believed she was in love with all her being.
How could she? How dare she?
She was a murderer for him now. He was better off without her, was what she had told her when tears of separation had been flowing down her cheeks as she had travelled in the dead of the night. That was how she had consoled her aching heart as she spent the last three months in Nice, with their memories as her only aid to breath.
Walking back to her condo, Jaehwa tugged at her coat as she waved at the old lady at the curb by her building who waved back in an excited fervor exactly like the two had been exchanging greetings for the last several months, beckoning her to come.
"Oh amore...I have been thinking of you." She smiled at her, holding her hand as she tugged at it.
"These flowers came in today. And they reminded me of you." She beamed as she gave the beautiful red roses to the woman who felt herself growing fond of the flowers instantly.
"Thank you so much, Anna." She said taking her wallet out to pay for it but the loud noise of annoyance from old Anna made her glance up to see herself being shooed away.
"Bye Anna," She laughed as she skipped out feeling elated instantly, "See you tomorrow."
Her nose wandering near the flowers again, she sniffed at it as her feet arrived at the threshold of her shelter that had been her destination for the many days that she had been aloof of any kind of contact from anyone.
Keys settling down on the dresser by the door, she walked into the apartment to find the silence a bit unsettling. A change in air was what her senses alerted her of. However, she stayed calm, filling the jar of pale pink crystal for the pretty flowers she got gifted with.
