Chapter 2: Meeting Laurance and saving Aphmau

- Aidan's Prov
It's been about a week since I came to New Meteli and so far? Nobody suspects I'm a wizard, but I can't stay here for much longer, the more I help, the more exposed I'm going to be if they find out I'm the one who's been making cures and remedies for the villagers that worked perfectly, but I'm not planning on settling here because I've seen how Tu'la treats people who thought were wizards and witches, so I thought they're the same here in Ru'aun but I'll take anything to escape that Hell of a place where my "uncle" abused me for years any day, I then picked up my bag and put it around my neck and set the strap on my right shoulder while my bag hung by my left thigh, I then checked if I got everything so I did and opened the door and left the room, closed then locked the door then headed to the front desk and turned in my key to the room and thanked the bartender for letting me stay then as I was about to leave, I quickly drew my wand from my bag

I then pointed it at the bartender "Obliviate" I whispered and erased myself from his memory then left the inn and walked to someone else "Excuse me, where is the nearest village from here?" I asked someone and they motioned to the library "My best guess is that you'll find what you're looking for in there" the person who's a woman told me so I nodded "Thank you ma'am" I thanked then entered the library then went into it and walked up to the librarian "Hello young man, what can I do for you?" she asked "I'm looking for something like a map of Ru'aun to know where I can go to find another village" I explained, she then went into the back then after a few moments, she came back with a rolled piece of paper then handed it to me, I then unrolled it and saw it was a MAP of Ru'aun?!

I then smiled brightly and looked to the librarian "Thank you! This is perfect!" I said happily and she smiled "That will be 2 gold ingots" she said so I sighed because I can't afford it, I then quickly pulled out my wand then pointed it at her "What are you-" she was about to yell "Obliviate!" I exclaimed and erased her memory of meeting me, so I put my wand away and quickly left and left a duplicate of the map using The Doubling Charm and I have the original, I left the duplicate, not sure how long it lasts, I read it lasts for hours, even days, I hope it'll last for a while, I then left and looked at the map and saw a village named Phoenix Drop, so I went down the path to it in the forest with my wand in my sleeve just in case I need it quickly, it was then, I came across a horrible scene, I had seen a woman with black hair, amber eyes wearing armor had been attacked by a Hidebehind, a creature born of a Demiguise and a Ghoul, I immediately drew my wand and pointed it at the Hidebehind "Reducto!" I yelled and a blue jet of light shot out of my wand at hit the Hidebehind and it just exploded into ashes, I then ran over to the woman, I then kneeled next to her and checked for her pulse, to my relief, I felt it, she's still alive, but injured, I can heal her, but before I could put my wand away, I heard something coming so I whirled around pointing my wand at what was coming and saw a man with brown hair, ice blue eyes wearing armor with a big emerald sword with an angered look on his face "What did you do?!" he demanded "I did nothing to her, I saved her" I told him calmly "Then why is she unconscious?!" he roared "Because she's injured, I need to get her somewhere safe" I told him "Now stand down" I warned "Before I make you" I threatened then he reluctantly put his sword back into its scabbard "Who are you?" I asked still pointing my wand at him to Curse him if I have to, but I won't until he gives me a reason, he then sighed "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have accused you for attacking her" he apologized "My name is Laurance, I'm a Guard of Phoenix Drop" he told me, I then looked at him suspiciously then said "Aidan" I said "From Tu'la" I said then kneeled down to the woman unconscious "Who's she?" I asked him "Lady Aphmau" he answered while kneeling on the other side of the woman named Aphmau, I then looked to Laurance "Laurance, help me carry her, we need to get her somewhere safe" I told him and he nodded "We're not too far from Phoenix Drop, we can bring her there" he told me "Grab her legs, I'll get her arms" I told him lifting her arms up and hooking my arms under her shoulders as Laurance lifted her legs as we began walking to Phoenix Drop, we didn't talk really "So what brings you here?" Laurance asked "I'd rather not say" I responded "Why? You're still a boy, where are your parents kid?" Laurance asked "My name's not 'kid', it's Aidan" I corrected him "And I'm not a boy, I'm 14 years old" I corrected again as we were getting closer to a giant gate "My parents are dead" I told him after a bit "Wh-what?" he asked shocked "You asked where my parents are, they're dead, they've been dead for years" I told him and he was shocked that I've been an orphan for years "How long have they been... gone?" Laurance asked "....8 years" I answered "When you were six years old?!" Laurance asked shocked that a 6 year old had been alone for THAT long, but yeah, I was 6 years old when my parents died and my "Uncle" adopted me but abused me, we then went to the front gate and someone with blue hair with Ruby katanas looked down at us "Dante! Open the gate! Lady Aphmau is hurt!" Laurance called then this "Dante" yelled to someone named "Alexis" to open the gate, then the big gate began to lift up opening it then Laurance and I carried Aphmau behind the wall and the gate closed after we were in, then this "Dante" came running and looked down at Aphmau "Aphmau?! Aphmau!!" Dante yelled, I turned to him and said "I need somewhere to put her so I can heal her" I told him, so he took her and carried her on his own and guided me to a purple and white house and opened the door "Okay put her on somewhere like a bed" I told him and he set her on a couch, I then kneeled to her side "Can you help her??" I heard Laurance ask "Yes, I've treated Hidebehind injuries before" I answered then started looking through my bag and examined the bite mark on her arm, the best I can do is heal it to the best of my ability, I studied Healing Magic and the nurse of The Hospital Wing in Hogwarts said I had an amazing talent in Healing, so I can do what I can, I then pulled out a bottle with a dropper on it I labeled "Essence of Dittany" then filled the dropper after taking off the cap "Her arm.." Dante gasped "I can handle it" I told them "What happened??" Dante asked confused "I thought you were going to New Meteli??" Dante asked Laurance "We were! But something huge grabbed Aphmau and I couldn't chase it until I saw the creature that took her was destroyed by this kid and she's like this now" Laurance explained "She had been attacked by a Hidebehind" I told them dripping some Essance of Dittany on her arm as the skin on her arm would begin to heal rapidly to where it looked a week old "A what??" Dante asked "A Hidebehind" I repeated "What's a Hidebehind???" Laurance asked confused "A Hidebehind is a nocturnal very dangerous creature and can hide behind almost anything to conceal itself, it's the result of the offspring of a Demiguise and a Ghoul" I explained "They can turn invisible to hunt their victims" I added and these two were shocked that I know that which was... interesting to say in the least, but anyway, I pulled out my wand and whispered "Vulnera Sanentur.." with my wand on Aphmau's arm as I began making it heal much more by slowing down the blood flow "Vulnera Sanentur.." I whispered again in a sing-song tone and the injury then was cleared of the residue "Vulnera Sanentur..." I chanted one more time and the bite began to knit itself together "Whoa.." I heard Dante say in awe "It's the best I can do" I told them, I then pointed my wand at Aphmau's arm "Ferula!" I exclaimed tapping her arm with my wand and suddenly bandages appeared and wrapped and tied themselves together around her arm covering the bite mark on her arm I healed as best as I could, I then gathered my stuff I used "How did you heal her?? do you have Magicks?" Laurance asked curiously "Not that I know of, but I do have magic inside me" I told them "I studied as much as I could on different forms of magic" I explained "And the potion I used is called 'Essence of Dittany', it's used for healing wounds by making the cuts become a week old" I explained "But the spell I used is the most powerful Healing Spell I can think of" I told them as I put the bottle of Essence of Dittany in my bag in a slot where all my other potions are and I have them in piles of slots so it helps, I then examined Aphmau for any other injury "I'm going to have to stay here with her and treat her injuries daily until she wakes up" I told them "There's a spell to awaken anyone who's stunned or unconscious but I'm not going to dare try it on her" I told them, mainly because I'm scared she'll wake up in PURE agony and I won't be able to ease her pain, but at least I can ease it while she's unconscious, I'll do what I can but I'm not sure if she'll be able to make a full recovery but I'll do my best, that's all I can do for now.
