We were so close

We were so close.
So close to finally having Notch back.
And yet we managed to completely forget about a possible problem.
Evan, Adon and Sylvie stood in our way, with Evan being really excited. "You shouldn't have expected that I'd just let you leave, Jay!", he hummed cheerfully. Subconsciously I pushed the addressed man behind me, uneasy. Who knows what kind of shit Evan was capable of trying, especially with those other two by his side.
I got more and more uneasy the more I eyed them. Adon coldly watched us, I could swear I saw a small grin on his lips.
Sylvie creeped me out the most. After the entire part where she tortured Zeph and me, her smirk didn't look dangerous anymore. It was downright terrifying.
I shifted uncomfortably. This was gonna be an issue.
Since I was barely capable of actually fighting in my miserable state, they'd immediately use that opportunity for who knows what.
Sylvie noticed my worried expression and giggled slyly, disappearing. I tensed up and looked around, subconsciously ready to protect Zeph as well.
Her breath trailed down my shoulder, her quiet giggle sent a cold shiver down my back. "I see you didn't recover from our work just yet~"
I screeched and punched the spot where her voice came from, but only managed to hit a bunch of dark smoke.
Jay touched my shoulder and tried to calm me down, seeing my distress. Up until now we haven't even considered what would happen if I were to get a panic attack... Sure, it didn't happen since a long time, but exactly that is the problem.
I let out a nervous breath and helplessly glanced at him as Sylvie appeared next to Adon, putting her arms onto his shoulder. Adon more or less subconsciously pulled away, almost dropping her to the ground. She wasn't fazed by this, eyeing us. "So you brought a useless demon, a psychopath, two cheating bastards, a scaredy-cat, and a ton of other useless side characters. Also a furry."
Centi growled loudly. "Who are you calling a furry, you Loki wannabe???" Sylvie didn't like that reply at all, hissing. "I will skin you and your owner alive, you pile of shit and fur!!"
I watched them, amused and honestly a bit calmer now. Their bickering was funny.
Until Evan suddenly attacked together with Adon. Jay pulled me back just in time, otherwise a lightning would've struck me down.
Next came Evan. They did exactly what I would've done. Go for the weakest link.
And that was sadly me.
I dodged out of the way of Evan's fist and grabbed his arm. He didn't expect it, so I managed to quickly toss him away from me. The movement alone made me grunt, the pressure was unbearable. I hadn't expected my state to be that bad, but this was awful.
Sylvie attempted to attack too, but didn't get far when Centi howled and went for her throat, Jura closely behind him. Xander, Jubilea and Jay went for Adon while the others helped wherever they could, Bellatrix and Hollow were taking on Evan so I wouldn't need to alone.
It was perfect. We were balanced up against those three, who used everything to murder us.
We fought for a long time, relentless and brutal. We nearly had them down when a familiar roar ripped us out of our concentration.
I paused a bit and looked up when Riota flew over us. Evan took that chance of missing concentration and punched me in the chest, breaking my already weak bones. Bell quickly pulled him back, but the damage had already been done.
This went quicker than it should have, because before I even realized what had happened, Sylvie shot me with a spell from behind, making me collapse.
With that, their biggest problem was out of the way. They were aware that I was incapable of dying and was pretty strong, so they wanted to get me out of the way. Plus they dearly hoped that this would destroy the moral of everyone.
But they were wrong. Now that I was down, both Hero and Jub went feral. Zeph also got more hostile, going for Adon.
Hollow and Bellatrix took Evan down together while I sat up, internally smiling. That plan worked much better than expected. The past few days weren't only walking and having fun, but also planning what to do if someone like Henory would attack with Riota. Sure, this wasn't the same setup, but an equal situation. Which meant I was the first target, and then immediately Hero since he was currently a massive danger.
If they managed to take me out, we'd have to go at them harder. Which shockingly worked, Hero, Jub and Hollow managed to keep the three attackers busy. The others acted as dangers to them, however were waiting for Riota to strike down.
Which soon happened. I watched as Riota landed and started participating in this fight.
I couldn't help anymore, I was too hurt and could barely breathe. But Bell still got me back on my feet once Hollow had Evan fully under control. "Break time's over, you can still fight.", she said, grinning. I frowned worriedly at that. "I doubt i-", I started, but she interrupted me. "Soldiers don't doubt their abilities to fight! Now let's go!"
I let out a soft sigh and went with her. Now we were up against Riota. Or... At least we thought.
Sylvie sent off a spell to attempt and kill off Bell, but missed and hit my old dragon. Riota roared and stumbled back, slipping and falling down into the crack before disappearing in it.
There was a pause between everyone. Just our panting and my raspy breathing broke the silence.
None of us could exactly believe what we just watched.
Adon, Sylvie and Evan, all three either extremely embarrassed or disappointed, snuck off and left before we'd kill them. Not a dumb idea, since none of us really noticed.
From one second to the other things changed drastically. Hollow was the first one to break the silence.
"What the fuck was that one all about?", he asked confusedly. Jay scratched his head. "I',... Not sure... That was odd."
I agreed and looked back at the crack. Huh...
"I guess there's nothing in our way now?", Hero asked. My only reply was a slight nod as I sat back down, holding my chest. We gathered and got ready for the last part of the adventure.
