You've never really been like the other girls in your school. You hit puberty late...or to correct that statement...you haven't even gone through most of the things 17-year-old girls should go through, like getting your period.

You knew it was going to come any day now, but nothing could really prepare you, and it was constantly on your mind.

On the weekend's, you usually go over to your brother's house to study; it's quieter and calmer there, for sure a better environment to be in.

You and your brother Mason are pretty close, despite him being a couple of years older than you. It's not just him; all your siblings are close, but Mason is the closest to your age so you both kind of relate to most things.

Today was Friday which meant that you were at Mason's. He was already preparing to go to a late training session.

The whole day you've felt bad cramps shooting in your stomach, but you had this feeling that it must've been the coffee you had before you got here. You're not the best with coffee, but you couldn't resist it.

You were sitting at the kitchen table with your computer and books in front of you, mentally preparing yourself to start studying for hours.

You let time pass, you read your chemistry book, and you took important notes when all of a sudden you felt something drip in your pants.

Your eyes went wide, and your body was still, not moving a muscle. You felt a cramp again, making your heart beat faster. There was only one thing you could think of now.

"This is not happening...not now," you mumbled, scared of standing up, thinking you'd stained the chair and your pants.

You close your eyes as you bite your lips from being so anxious and nervous. You slowly get up from the chair, standing up as your hands were on the table.

You opened your eyes and slowly turned around; the chair wasn't stained, but your pants definitely were. Out of absolutely nowhere, you let out a loud scream as you ran over to the nearest bathroom to lock yourself in.

You were not prepared for this, especially not when you don't have your sister or mother around to help you out.

As for Mason, his protective brother instincts activated. He had dropped everything in his hands and ran down the stairs as soon as he heard your horrific scream.

"Y/N!?"

"FUCK!" you yelled out loud, struggling to calm yourself down in the locked bathroom.

"Are you ok!? What happened?" He stood outside the bathroom door, knocking worriedly.

"This is a complete disaster," you let out a deep breath, trying not to be your overdramatic self.

"What happened for fuck sake; why did you scream like a fucking elephant for?!" He was losing his patience with you, which would happen very often.

"It's too embarrassing," you calmed yourself down, checking your pants again and seeing the blood stain.

"What? Did you fail a test or something? You know mom and dad won't care—"

"No, Mason, I didn't fail; I'm not that dumb!" You said, offended that he would even think that.

"What happened then?" He asked annoyed.

"I got my fucking period, are you happy now? Oh my god, I can't believe I just told you that," you put your hand over your mouth in embarrassment.

You heard him break into laughter, not understanding how he could find this situation funny.

"Stop laughing!" you shouted.

"Is this your first time?" He asked as he kept laughing, obviously finding it very funny.

You rolled your eyes, "Obviously."

"Ok, ok, I think mom and Jaz might have tampons or pads or whatever it is you use; should I bring some?" He asked, calming his laughter down.

"Yes, please. Can you bring my backpack too?" you quietly said, thanking yourself for bringing spare clothes.

"Yeah, sure," he said before he went to grab everything you needed. He knocked on the door as soon as he came back, telling you to open it to take the stuff.

"Don't look," you warned him before unlocking the door.

"Why the hell would I look?" He rolled his eyes at your stupidity.

"You reached your arm out and took your bag and the pads he had in his hands." You quickly locked the door again, getting yourself cleaned up.

Meanwhile, Mason thought he could do something nice for you. He felt bad for laughing because you were clearly embarrassed and maybe even traumatized by the surprise.

Growing up, he had learned from Jasmine how she would always ask him for sweets when she was on her period; he thought that maybe it could help you too, especially now that you're also studying.

He brought out your favorite snacks that he always had in his house and your favorite soda, placing them all on the table where your books were.

By the time he had done that, you slowly walked out of the bathroom, dreading to even face your brother after everything that just happened.

"Y/N, you don't have to be embarrassed," he said, rolling his eyes as he noticed that you were trying to hide from him.

"Easy for you to say," you rolled your eyes back

"I need to head to training, but I put some of your favorite snacks and drinks, hopefully it will feel a bit better," he told you.

"Thanks,"

"Anything else you need?" He asked

"No thank you," you took a seat on the chair. Trying your best to forget about what just happened but it was nearly impossible.

"This is getting awkward, I'm leaving now," Mason grabbed his keys

"Yes, please, leave, bye," you waved your brother goodbye, before going back to thinking how embarrassed you still are.
