Continuation...
I walk towards Corin while fighting the cold in my thin t-shirt. This is for Ben, I don't want him to feel that his captain doesn't care about his birthday.
Earlier scenes are enough and it should be fine.
The small house beckoned to me. There is a small balcony outside the door and it has only one floor.
I stepped up the stairs and approached the yellow door. After three knocks it opened. Aunt Mabel, wearing a pink apron displayed in front.
"Hi aunt." I greet.
"Hey, Aid. Come in, just go see Corin in his room." She let me go inside.
"Auntie, is Corin sick? He got home after the class earlier." I asked as I closed the door.
Maybe because of what was being cooked, she quickly ran to the kitchen and quickly took the pan from the stove. "Did he come home early?"
"Yes, he skipped the last class this afternoon."
"I didn't know, I just got home from work. I didn't ask because he barely talks to me now. I didn't even bother, I knew he was tired from practice." I nodded to her and left her in the kitchen.
I went to his room and knocked several times on his door. "Corin!"
"I already told you, I'm not going to Ben's party."
"Let me in first."
The door opened and he left me standing while he quickly lay down on the bed. I went in and just kept quiet.
I looked around. He got so many trophies stacked on his nightstand, certificates plastered on the wall and medals hanging on his cabinet.
This guy is a legend when it comes to basketball. I wish I could be like him.
Compared to him, I was still in the middle of my walk to where he was.
"You didn't tell your mom you got sick."
I looked at his blanketed cheek. "I'm not a Child anymore, Aid. I can take care of myself." That's the reason.
I sat on the edge of his bed. "Actually I'm here to pull you out and go to Ben. Just do this for a respect for his birthday, he's our teammate. What will he think if you're not there? I promise to him that I will bring you with me tonight."
Suddenly his cell phone rang on top of his blanket. I saw that he received a message.
He immediately got up from lying down and read the contents of the message. He read it carefully as if it was absorbing him.
"Let me take a shower first, then we can go."
I thought I would have a hard time persuading him.
Tita and I talked first in the kitchen while waiting for him to finish, we talk about how good she cooks. I didn't bring up our topic at school anymore, talking about cooking is her biggest distraction.
"Mom, we're leaving." Corin wearing a black shirt and fitted jeans.
"Be careful when driving and don't drive home drunk." Always a reminder to Corin and me.
We also said our goodbyes and left in the car that was given to him by his Papa, the sad part is hemove to another house with another family. As long as possible I never talk about his Dad, he even skipped that topic when being talked about.
We arrived after three minutes at the biggest house in town. Lights and music painted the silent ride.
We got out of the car after he parked on the side of the big house. Ben immediately greeted us at the door of the house and gave us a fist bump one by one.
"I'm glad you two came, I thought you wouldn't bite me anymore. Anyway, let's go they are waiting for us."
We went inside and ended up in the living area where all the teammates were waiting to find the light beer in hands.
I looked at Corin, his forehead was frowning as he stared at his team with no inhibitions.
"Just chill, Captain. It's just light, then let's get back to practice."
"Yes, Captain. We will also sleep here for assurance." One of our teammates said.
"Ok, just be careful. We are in the middle of practice and we have a goal for this year." It's a reminder.
Everyone nodded.
I think half of the seniors are here inside the house, there are a few juniors and Ben's close relatives.
"Enjoy the party everyone!" I turned to that voice, the Mayor.
He approached the group. "Congrats guys for winning cluster game last week, the town is proud of you." He started.
One by one we smiled at him and thanked him.
"Anyway, enjoy your birthday son. And I'm sorry I gotta go." He is still adjusting the necktie he is wearing. He was a busy man, but supportive towards his only son Ben.
"It's ok, Dad."
"Anyway, I'm in a hurry. Happy birthday again and enjoy the night." He left immediately.
The crisp talk continued, non-stop gossips and opening of light canned beer.
Corin said goodbye to go to the bathroom. "I'll be back."
"You know guys, I saw Sky here with his twin sister." One of our group mates announced.
"I invited his sister, not him. Why is he here? Maybe he's going to do something bad." Ben's muttered.
"Why don't we prank him, after all he's here in your place and we hated him." One suggestion.
I don't know where it's going, as long as I'm involved. I hate gays, they are way to comfort treating everyone like them. We are not gay to beat them.
Everyone laughed in agreement.
As planned. I'm the good guy with gay Sky. Everything is in place. I am now sitting on the bed in a room on the second floor of the house facing the door that opened and Sky spat out.
He was wearing a hoodie, really unlucky. It would be better if he just wore a t-shirt or maybe he wore the bikini he was hiding.
"Hi Skye." I greet him. It seems confused, is he still changing?
"Why don't you have any clothes? And then what is it?" Is his voice really small? Or this gay guy is just being cute.
I opened my thigh. "Aren't you going to give it to me? Its your lose then." I will attract him.
He stepped forward and before he could answer me and raise his hand, Ben suddenly poured a bucket of water on him, smashed an egg in his mouth and also shot him in the face with two confetti.
We laughed while holding the cellphone and recording.
He tried to fight back but he failed because he seems distracted by the confetti in his eyes. Out of shame, he ran out the door.
The room was full of laughter, all the teams were here.
Don't feel sorry for Sky, he was annoying and this is his fault.
While we were busy tagging people in the video we posted about earlier, suddenly someone entered the door.
Feonna.
"What did you do to Sky!?" She shouted angrily at us, but her eyes burning in mine.
