THE POLLYWOG

THE SOUND OF THE COFFEE MACHINE BREWING woke Tiffany up like it usually would if her dad wasn't working an early shift. She knew for a fact ha had worked a late shift though. She also had no clue if he would bring up last night.

After she got dressed she made her way into the kitchen. Her dad was standing there drinking a cup of coffee as he glanced over at her giving a small smile.

It was silent as she grabbed her own cup and poured herself coffee.

"That was a sight to see." Rob broke the silence.

"Hm?" She hummed looking at him in confusion.

"You and Steve." He stated sipping more coffee out of his mug.

"Oh." She said quietly.

"Me and his old man never really got along in high-school. Of course now it'd be a myth if you saw him here in town." Rob said.

"Father like daughter." Tiffany scoffed.

"You mean to tell me you and that boy Harrington don't get along? You looked like you were getting along on Tina's porch." Rob said laughing.

"Well, we've never really gotten along before. I don't know. We were both going through it last night." Tiffany said shrugging.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Nancy got drunk and couldn't handle her alcohol." Tiffany proceeded to tell her dad what happened. He listened but that's not what he was asking. He wanted to know why Tiffany was "going through it" he didn't know about her flashbacks. The only one who knew other than her now was Steve.

Robert nodded at her.

"I've got to get to work kid. I brought your car home. I'll talk to you later today. Make sure James had a good night." He said grabbing his hat and walking out the door

PE WASN'T ALWAYS TIFFANYS FAVORITE but she never hated it. She usually had fun in there. She hung out with Mason unless the girls and boys got split up. Another reason she disliked pe was because Nikole and her minions were in there too. In addition Steve was in that period at the same time.

"Skins. Skins. Shirts. Shirts." The coach kept naming the teams for the basketball game.

"Hope Hargrove is skins who wouldn't want to see that hunk of ass jump around shirtless for fifty minutes." Tiffany rolled her eyes at the remark Carol just made. Of course Billy got put on skins right after that.

Tiffany looked up at the boys getting ready to play basketball as she sat on the bleachers. Her eyes met with Steve's unintentionally and neither of them could find themselves moving their path of sight elsewhere. That was until the whistle got blown and he jumped up getting into position.

Tiffany had noticed Nancy wasn't there all morning and she knew she didn't get picked up by Steve because she wasn't there that morning in the parking lot.
