Chapter 6: Love.

Me and Bucky are sleeping, his head in my lap. As I slowly open my eyes I look down at him.

I rub his cheek slightly with my thumb.
'You love him, Don't you.' Steve says while sitting down on a desk across from me. 'Yeah ...I do.' I say with a slight smile.

'Just like when we were kids?' Steve says laughing. 'I loved him in the 40s, and I love him now too.' I chuckle.

'What did HYDRA do to you?' Sam asks while sitting next to Steve. I sigh, 'Well, when Bucky fell off that train, a couple days later... They found me looking for him.'

'What..?' Steve says with a shocked face. 'When they found out who I was... They knew I was gonna be a "perfect" soldier for them.' I say looking down to Bucky.

'What did they do to you guys..' Sam says with a concerned face. 'They tortured us, HYDRA made us kill people we loved, forced us to forget about everything.' I say while wiping my eyes to hide my teary eyes.

'Remember my mom?' I ask Steve. 'Yeah... she was a beautiful woman.' He says smiling. 'I don't remember her name. I only remember certain things, She had beautiful brown eyes, and dark brown hair.' I say while my lip quivers a bit.

'Her name was Morgan, She helped raise me and buck.' Steve says looking to his feet. 'I wish I could've apologized to her, I left her to join the war, I was all she had.' I say with guilt spread across my face.

'She would've forgave you, She loved you.' Steve says while getting up to get fresh air. As Steve and Sam walk off Bucky starts to open his eyes.

'Morning Barnes.' I say smiling. 'Morning doll.' He quickly says sitting up. 'Doll?' I say with a smile. 'I didn't mean that-' He says while rubbing his face. 'I like it.' I say leaning on his shoulder. 

'Okay then.' He sighs in relief. He lays his jacket on my body. 'Id rather have your body heat but, this is okay too.' I say wrapping my arm around his waist. He pulls me in closer, Rubbing my back.

'How's your side?' He asks. 'Hurts real bad.' I say with a laugh. He continues to rub my back while I run my hand across his chest.

'I was scared.' I say looking up at him. 'You almost died because of me.' He says looking down at me. 'But I didn't.' I whisper with a smile. I get lost in his eyes as his hands continue to snake up and down my back.

I shiver as the wind comes threw the door. His eyes soften while staring into me. We both continue to lay together until Steve alerts me to join him in a discussion.

Bucky helps me up while walking me over to Steve. 'What's up?' I ask while holding onto Bucky. 'We need to leave, not safe here.' He says while pointing to the circling helicopters.

'Where are we gonna go?...' I say with a confused look. 'You don't have your shield, sam Doesn't have his wings?? I can barely stand!!- We're stuck here.'

'Not necessarily.' Steve says looking over to me. 'What?' I say with a slight change in expression. 'Remember Sharon? She has everything.' Sam says stepping towards the window.

'Oh- Okay, We should get going then.' I say leaning into Bucky. 'You alright?' Bucky asks. 'The universe definitely- fucked me over.' I laugh. 'Are you gonna be able to run?' Steve asks grabbing his jacket.

'No.' I say holding my side. 'I've got her.' Bucky says wrapping his arm around my waist while I put my arm around his shoulder.

We leave out the back alley behind the building to the "get away car". 'This thing??' I laugh. 'Best we have for now.' Steve says unlocking the doors.
