Tony had just explained why the accords needed to go forward of course our group conversation was cut short by Cap's early departure. He had retraced his steps, back to leaning on the kitchen counter turned away from me. The room had cleared out the silence became deafening, as my thoughts were being cluttered by the replay of yesterday's events. "You were too quiet, Y/N. What's going through your head?" I looked up to see Tony still hunched over nursing a cup of coffee in his palms, but he had broken the silence and for that I was grateful.

I made my way towards him stopping to lean against the corner of the bench facing his back "my opinion isn't relevant...how's your head love?" I asked running a gentle hand down his back creating friction between my hand and his suit. "It's fine" he replied plainly clearly lying I stood up straight reaching out to run my nails gently through the back of his hair. "I'll get you some warm water" I moved towards the sink, but he caught my wrist stopping me. "Tony" he stopped me shaking his head slightly "What's going through your head, baby?" He asks again this time his eyes searched mine for an answer. "I'm thinking that my husband needs water" he stares at me and finally I cave "That boy... he was a son, a brother, a boyfriend...he was so loved, his life was delicate and we took it away from him. What if he was our son Tony?" Tony's hand moved away from my wrist traveling down to clasp my hand.

"I'm signing those accords" he let out a breath of relief a small smile spread on his lips. I moved closer to him, I reached out to touch his face "I love you" he said quietly I smiled pressing my lips to his just for a moment as I pulled away I whispered back to him "I love you too, we are going to fix this".
