lovely morning? nah, not for everyone. especially minho, who was trying his best to not fall asleep again on his comfy bed. eyes closed, he started to drift off again but the sudden noise of his alarm that he set for every five minutes made it extremely difficult for the young man. he shouldn't have studied late last night.

"ugh" with a low raspy morning voice, he finally woke up and took his phone to turn off the alarm. all alarms. then slow steps were made towards his small bathroom that was attached to his room.

on his way, he took the towel, hanging it around his shoulder as he stopped right in front of his mirror. tiredly he looked at his reflection as a sigh escaped from his nose. "what have i done in my past life to be this good-looking?" with that remark he started doing his usual morning routine.

was he confident about his looks? only a 'yes' would sound unsatisfied itself. for the past 18 years, he's been hearing ppl compliment him, confessing to him, and whatnot. it's ppl around him who made him this confident. and oh boy did he like it? well.

confidence.

everyone should have at least a bit much confidence in themselves. right? true. but does every person find it in themselves? untrue.

every time you ask someone if jisung is confident about himself then only negative answers are expected. sadly it's always negative.

"ji! you done yet?" a melodic voice called from downstairs, waiting on the couch patiently for his best friend while scrolling through some msgs. soon some footsteps were heard and a very smiley squirrel-ish boy with brown hair was standing there, holding the bag straps tightly. the blonde looked up from his phone screen turning it off and leaving it in his pocket as he got on his legs.

"let's go. we gotta find our classrooms" was all he said before proceeding to the front door. jisung was the one to open the door first and got out of his house, his best friend tailing behind. "did you wear makeup today to impress our new schoolmates?" jisung halted looking at his best friend in disbelief as a 'tch' sound escaped his mouth. "bitch, im born beautiful. it'd be a shame if i covered my prettiness with foundations"

not confidence but maybe overconfidence...

the brunette smiled since his friend replied with exactly what he expected. "be honest, did you forget my name? you never call me by my real name" general knowledge said jisung liked it that way. whoever was close enough to him he'd never call them by the name that was printed on their birth certificate. ofc heesung was top in the list. "duh, that would be too formal for me." yeah, that too.

"don't forget your umbrella, looks like it gonna rain today. too much to be your first school day" parents. it sounded too obvious that it's none other than minho's mom. that voice made minho look up from his cereal bowl, nodding like a good boy. but deep down it always bothered him. like cmon, he's a soon to be 19 who just had some baby-ish behaviors.

a soon 19-year-old who can't sleep without hugging something. that's all. that's not a big deal honestly. that was not till his annoying cousin took a pic of him sleeping like that. that unfortunate day he forgot to lock his door because he was too much, way too much sleepy. he swore he'd never leave his door unlocked.

soon he finished his breakfast, leaving the bowl in the sink and getting out of the house without forgetting to take the double-folded blue umbrella ignoring his least favorite blood-red umbrella that he thought attracted too much attention.

his new school was too far for his liking but yet it was him who chose the school. why? better to go back to his house as late as possible. the hatred was real.

after waiting for like 3 minutes he saw the bus coming. he took off his bag and rummaged through it finally finding his black mask. soon he entered the bus after wearing that.

first day of high school. what could go wrong? exactly nothing.

exactly nothing happened. minho was determined to not make any new friends cause for him friends were nothing but headaches. honestly, it was in his history. ppl would come to talk to him and call him their friend but then when they realize that the brunette is too quiet (seems uninterested and is uninterested) they'd stop talking and that's the end. minho never blamed anyone cause that's true. he never minded being left like that cause he liked it better.

those typical first days of school. you ask someone about your class, try to find it. then when you find it occupy any seat. if you're lucky enough you find someone you knew before or make someone know you with a pretty smile.

minho realized he was the only one who wasn't talking to anybody, sitting beside someone unknown who already found an interesting topic to talk about with the person sitting on his other side.

it was noisy enough for minho to take out his earbuds and stuff them in his ear holes. peace at least. but it didn't last two minutes since the teacher came inside the classroom which made him take off his earbuds.

who doesn't find lectures irritating? some toppers. minho wasn't one of them but for sure one of those high scorers.

the teacher took out a list, fixing his glasses (a common habit for teachers) as he started talking making most ppl groan. " park sunghoon, lee minho, han jisung, and hanbin. i heard you four ranked last year in your previous school. congratulations and welcome to our school. hope you like it here." minho was already hating it though.

soon lunch break happened. as usual minho was sitting alone on his lower desk, music playing in his ear as he stared down at his notes blankly thinking about nothing. peacefulness came back and he was grateful. all it took was one tap on his shoulder, following the hand soon his eyes met the owner. as a matter of politeness he paused his music and raised his eyebrows for the person to continue whatever he wanted.

the brown-haired boy or so-called han jisung was sitting on top of his upper desk facing minho, crossing his arms on his chest "damn man, don't tell me you're the park guy who scored highest and now showing it off by acting like a nerdy book worm." he looked around him then back at minho "or.. don't tell me.. you're a loner?" it made minho scoff internally.

without replying he looked back at his notes to indicate 'don't talk to me, stranger'. he could feel that person opening his mouth to say something but a sudden shadow could be seen passing like light and then an arm was wrapped around jisung to shut him off. minho startled by the sudden movement looked up to watch the scene.

"keep your hands to yourself you damn bitch" jisung was irritated. everyone could see this except that 'damn bitch' person. he smiled at jisung ignoring minho's presence. "enjoying your first day, baby?" minho cringed. it's just the first-day jesus god. and like right in front of his salad??

suddenly jisung kicked that person's leg making him fall to the ground. of course, it took everyone one nanosecond to realize what happened now that everyone's attention was on them. "don't tell me i didn't warn you, jake freaking sim. now if you kindly fuck off from my sight" gasps. that's what everyone did. even though some found it funny they didn't dare laugh.

jisung dusted off his palms looking back at the 'nerdy bookworm' as he gave a smile more like a straight line of his lips ignoring jake completely who already got on his feet and went to his friends "so where i left- oh yeah, you have no friends?" minho was unfazed. hating the attention of ppl, he took his phone and got up from his seat soon leaving the classroom and an open-mouthed jisung.

since he already hit the play button to continue the song he paused earlier, he couldn't hear the next sentence behind him. "you're ignoring me? han jisung? huh"
