to be on this earth
I need anchors
to hold me in place
so I do not float away
my soul longs for freedom
to dance with the stars
to sleep in the sky
surrounded by perpetual darkness
in peace
in calmness
but my love is made of steel
inflexible, unbreakable
holding my body down
performing its duties
holding the responsibilities
grounding me in this earth
but with each breath I take
I am reminded
am not made to wonder
around this place
So let love be my anchors
weighing me down
keeping me still
until one by one
they detach
I float away
