Stan would be an absolute dumbass if he didn't get by now that he and Butters had something more than friendship.
So good thing he figured it out by now.
But the realization hit harder than it really should've. Like seriously.
Stan can't stand next to Butters without his heart pounding against his ribs and his mind running with thoughts. Stan will go home screaming into his pillow and taking his sweet, sweet time in the shower until Sharon comes in, yelling at him to hurry up because Randy has to throw up.
Maybe Stan is just stupid, but he believes Butters has been making moves on him since day one, or day five, or maybe-- Actually, whatever, who cares. The point is that Butters has been making moves on him and when he does, Stan can't help but run away from it. He knows he probably shouldn't do that, but Stan hasn't made a move on someone, or even reciprocated a flirtatious move in over eight, nine years?
The thought of messing up scares Stan. He can't handle rejection and especially can't handle the uncomfortable or weirded out look Butters might give him. Maybe he's just a scared of love in a whole, or maybe he's just a dense fucking dope, but either way, he seriously needs to do something about this.
Stan sighed, throwing himself in his desk chair and slumping miserably in it. His eyes staring at the opened door and watching the people walk by the classroom, only shooting himself up in his chair, back straight and leaning over his desk to get a better look out the hallway to see what's going on when he hears the sound of a plastic lunch tray snapping and the sound of a loud gasp.
Stan can see half of Kenny's parka, slightly hunched over and holding something in his hands. Curious, he leans out of his desk a bit more only to see the rest of Kenny, he's holding a black, plastic lunch tray in his hands, sticky brown syrup and the disgusting school milk dripping from his tray and onto the floor while he looks at the unknown person in front of him with absolute mortification and regret.
This seems to catch the attention of none other than Mr. Garrison, as he stops the class to walk over to the open door and see what's going on only to watch, making all the other students get up from their seats and huddle behind him to see what's going on. Stan (obviously) follows suit, pushing past people to get a better look at the commotion.
Stan's eyes go wide when he sees Butters standing right in front of Kenny with watery eyes and trembling lips, his turquoise coat soaked in white milk and brown syrup.
"Butters--"
"Don't. I'm- I'm tired of this Kenny. I can't do this anymore. I'm sick of these empty apologies and these bland 'I love ya''s. Please, just-- stop..." Butters pleaded weakly, his voice coming out shaky but firm
"No- no, no, no- Butters, baby, I mean it now. I'm ready to be commitful! I've cut Bebe off, I've cut Heidi off, I've cut them all off." Kenny assured, putting his broken tray on the ground and putting a hand on his arm, and moving closer to the blonde boy.
"No... Stop, Kenny, just-- Stop..." Butters slapped Kenny's hand weakly and Kenny quickly retracted it, not wanting to make the blonde uncomfortable.
"Baby, please... I've fixed it, we can- we can start over, all new, fresh and everything!"
Stan knew Butters felt pressured, his body started to curl in on him and every movement and sound made him flinch with fear. Butters would look at Kenny like he was a predator, (😈) like he was something to be afraid of and it made Stan confused, as he's never seen Butters act like this before, maybe only once and that's when Stan brung up his Uncle Budd.
