Aubrey ran off, tears swelling in her eyes, her ribbon parting, undoing her long ponytail.
Sunny hyperventilated. He looked beside him for comfort, but hero and kel just faded away. They shattered into particles. Sunny had a panic attack with no one around him. His legs grew weak and he collapsed into a hole in the floor of the playground. He sank into a void, seeing flashes of the sky. The sky of the real world.
He woke up and opened his eyes. His vision was fuzzy, but he wasn't in his room. He was surrounded by tile walls and floors. He tried to move but couldn't. As if he was paralysed.
He heard the scruffy door to his right creak open. First, a medium height, sharp brown haired boy entered the room, then a taller one with a ponytail and a mullet, who was holding a balloon and white tulips. Then a pink haired girl slouched in, and lastly a dirty blonde haired tall, thin boy.
"Hey buddyyy... you there? You can hear me.. right?? Sunny? It's kel!!"Sunny was in shock, yet his eyes couldn't widen, nor could he gasp.
"Kel, give him some space. Sunny, we miss you, okay? Please wake up. For now just rest easy." Aubrey gently spoke. His friends had been visiting him. As he strained to peer at his left and right, he saw 4 giant gifts and 4 individual birthday balloons with the numbers 13,14,15 and 16.He felt a pound of guilt. All these years, his friends had visited him. Not knowing that Mari didn't tie the rope. He did.
Everyone just then sat there, but their joyful faces turned to sorrow.
"Is he gonna make it?"
..
"Make what?" Sunny thought, and as he stretched his eyes beside him, only to see his shadow.
"You don't belong here. Not yet."
His sweven shattered. He tried to reach out for his friends but couldn't move. Nor cry, not even make a sound. He woke up, about to pant, but he couldn't. He reached his hand up to where his mouth was meant to be, but it was just skin. Sunny tried to scream yet nothing came out. Until he heard a metal clank nearby. He peered to his left to see a fresh, shiny knife. The blade had just been sharpened. Sunny reached his shaking hands out for the knife, grabbing it with both for a better grip. As he drew it to his mouth, his door barged open. Yet it was too late. He had cut the deep slit to mimic a mouth.
"SUNNY??"
Sunny struggled with his words, as if he had the worlds most severe lisp.
"Mouf.. wasn't there.." sunny mumbled.
"It's okay, we're gonna fix this." kel put a dampened towel over sunny's cut and kept it there for a while. Until an unfamiliar voice beckoned from the corner
"Woopsies... made his body wrong this time.. how many more clones do I need to maaaake?"
It looked almost-no.. EXACTLY identical to sunny, except it was more like a shadow.
"..Who are you?? Sunny, who is that?"
The shadow giggled.
"His shadow. He plays me out to be nothing. I'm not just that, I'm forgiveness. The sense of forgiveness of the real sunny. I'm humble, really, but in brainscape, I might just be the creator of you, your family, friends etcetera. Names puppeteer."
He giggled while sunny's jaw slightly dropped.
"Sunny.. we're real aren't we?"
"...no. You're not real. You're a fragment of my delusion I'm seeing right now. I need to wake up to see the real you kel, I'm sorry.
His vision soon shattered. Sunny flinched. He closed is eyes. Then opened them to see a hospital room once again. The room is small and somewhat cramped, with white-tiled walls and a linoleum floor that gleams under the harsh fluorescent lights. A large window allows natural light to filter in, and a translucent white curtain can be pulled around the space to provide privacy.
The centerpiece of the room is the hospital bed, which dominates the space with crisp white linens and a series of machines that beep and hum quietly in the background. An IV pole stands at the head of the bed, and near it is a bedside table that holds a pitcher of water, a stack of magazines, and a remote control for the television. The room is equipped with a variety of medical supplies and equipment, including a heart monitor, a blood pressure cuff, and a breathing machine. A call button hangs over the bed, allowing patients to easily summon nurses or doctorsA young boy with messy black hair that falls into his face lays upon the bed. His eyes are normally hidden behind his hair or his bangs, but when visible, they are soft and round, with a hint of sadness in them. He is introverted, sensitive, and deeply introspective, but can also be playful and imaginative when he is in a comfortable environment. His quiet demeanor often belies a rich inner world filled with creativity and curiosity.
Basil walked in to see Sunny alone. He looked like he wasn't far from seizing.
"Help."
