Prologue / Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1

Leilani was always the shy and quiet kid, until one day she met Nessa. Flashback to 5th grade in the courtyard. "Hey nerd watcha reading!" Leilani scrambles to hide her book but she was to late, Jake had already grabbed it and threw it across the courtyard." H-Hey don't touch my stuff!" " What are you gonna do about it?" Jake questions as he towers over her. "Hey!" a voice shouted from the distance , Leilani and Jake turned around to see who it was and it was Nessa. " Stop messing with her" the girl said. " What are you gonna do about it" Jake said as he laughed at the girl. "If you keep messing with her I'm gonna get my brother to beat you up!" the small girl yelled. " Yeah you do that" Jake said not believing her. Jake walked over to where Leilani's book that was sitting in a puddle of water. "Hey nerd what are you gonna do if I rip your book?" The arrogant boy teased. " G-give it back!" Leilani shouted. As Jake was about to rip the book he got forcefully turned around and punched in the face. Ever since that day Nessa and Leilani have been best friends. The two girls are in Nessa's room packing for her families annual spring break beach trip. "This one or this one?" Nessa asked Leilani pointing at two brightly colored bikinis." The pink one" Leilani answers, Nessa continues packing as they here a knock on the door. " Mom says hurry up!" Bryce yells at the both of them. They giggle as they leave the room, Bryce and Leilani exchanging flirtacious smiles. Nessa rolls her eyes at the two as they walk towards their moms car. The three make it to the car as they chose seats, Leilani in the middle and Bryce and Nessa on each side of her" Are you kids all ready ?" Mrs. Neola says as she smiles at the teens " I guess so" Bryce says. The trio decides to play some music to start the car ride. *play song above* Leilani smiles as the wind blows against her curls and her hazel eyes glowed amber in the sun. Bryce's pov god she's so pretty Bryce thought as he watched the wind blow in her hair. They made it to the airport and Leilani felt a wave of anxiety rush over her as she stopped in front of the door  , she briskly walked to catch up to the family  as they  got their tickets and checked-in their bags. Bryce and Nessa's mom went to find their gate while the trio walked around for a bit. " Are you guys excited?" Nessa asked the two, " Of course I am, we have been planning this for so long" Leilani says. "Especially the drinks" Bryce and Leilani say in sync, the  pair look at each other and shyly laugh.
