Chapter 21: Announcement

Zhade's POV

Today is the day, ngayon ang Report namin ni Seven sa subject ni Sir Josh. Halos mangginaw ako sa kaba dahil firstime 'kong magreport! Sa previous school 'ko kasi wala ganito-ganito kaekekan. Pero nawala ang kaba 'ko nang maisip ang nasaksihang away magkapatid kagabi, ewan 'ko ba't sila nag-aaway sa tapat nang bahay namin. Siguro nga, dumaan lang sila or what?

I took a deep breath. Hindi 'ko dapat isipin 'yon dahil may report kaming dapat asikasuhin ni Seven.

"So, Seven Riverside and Zhade Riechert. Kasama niyo pala si Ferelle sa inyong grupo since Arizola—decide to drop out." Nabitawan 'ko ang hawak 'kong research paper sa gulat. Did she really drop out? At what, makakasama namin 'tong boss nang mga demonyo?

"Sir—" Aangal pa sana ako kaso, pinigilan ako ni Seven.

"Let him with us, kawawa naman siya." Bulong ni Seven kaya napatingin ako sa gagong seryosong nagsusulat sa kanyang papel. "Remember, he write that overnight for you." He added while pointing out the research paper that he gave me last week.

"For me?" I almost rolled my eyes. Oo na, kawawa na siya wala kasi siyang partner eh, namatay ata sa inggit.

"Hoy, halika ka na dito at magsisimula na tayo!" Agaw atensiyon 'kong sabi. Agad namang napatakip nang bibig ang mga kaklase 'ko. Edi sila na ang green. Duh.

"What? Start what?" He ask.

Inis 'ko siyang tiningnan. "Hindi ba obvious? We've almost starting here at wala ka dito." I pointed out.

"I think she seduce him."

"Yeah, that bitch really a KSP."

Tinapunan 'ko nang masamang tingin ang babaeng nadinig 'kong nilalait 'ko at agad naman itong tumalima at nanghingi nang paumanhin. Aba, talaga lang! Kong mahal pa nila ang buhok nila, ay wag na wag nila akong pag-usapan nang malapitan. Handa akong makipagsabunutan ngayon!

"Okay."  He nodded at naglakad papalapit saakin.

"So, goodmorning Mr. Joshua. This is our observation about the gumamela flowers of plant species." Panimula 'ko sabay pakita nang mga iba't-ibang parts nang gumamela with labels. "Gumamela is a erect, much-branched, glabrous shrub. 1-4 meters high. Leaves are glossy green, ovate, accuminate, pointed, coarsely-toothed, 7-12 centimeters long, alternate, stipulate. Flowers are solitary, axillary, very large, about 10 centimeters long, and 12 centimeters in diameter."

"What is the scientific name of Gumamela?" Sir ask at me pero umiling ako. I forgot, Oh I almost say I don't know. "How about Ferelle, what is the scientific name of Gumamela?" Baling nito kay Chess.

Tumikhim muna ito bago sumagot. "The scientific name of Gumamela is Hibiscus rosas sinensis."

Edi siya na matalino.

"Kingdom?" Sir ask.

"Plantae." Sagot nito.

"Family?"

"Malvaves."

"Sub family?"

"Malvoideae."

"Very Good, Mr. Ferelle you may now continue."

"Each flower has both male (stamen) and female (ovary) parts. Every stalk has one flower, and most flowers has five petals. Petals can be scooped or scalloped in shape. The flowers are bell shaped and bloom from 28-48 hours year-round. The flowers usually have no scent. The flowers of the gumamela can be white,pink,red,yellow, peach and purple. They are primarily grown as an ornamental plant, and the flowers and leaves have medical herbs properties. Hibiscus have a long life, with some lasting more than 50 years." Saulo nitong sabi.

Talaga ba? Ako lang kasi ang may dalang papel dahil di 'ko memorize.

"Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and trophical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowed for thier large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as 'hibiscus' " Saulo din ni Seven at natapos na kami sa aming report.

Malapit nang matapos ang morning class nang biglang nag-ring ang bell. Hudyat nito na may announcement na magaganap sa pamamagitan nang speaker dito sa loob ng bawat room. Lahat kami ay nag-aabang sa sasabihin nang headmistress ukol sa kanyang ipapahayag sa speaker.

"Good morning everyone.." I heard her serious voice from the speaker. "This announcements will be regarding on your Prom Night tomorrow. I know some of you are confused kung bakit bukas agad. Though tomorrow is Saturday and everything has been already settle, beacuse tomorrow also the school 50th anniversary, so as a celebration we will together celebrate the anniversary and first prom night of  school. At ngayong araw half-day lang kayo, upang makabili pa kayo nang susuotin ninyo para bukas and etc matters. Let see each other tomorrow, everyone must have a date. Have a great day ahead."

Natapos ang surprise annoucement at nagparty-party ang lahat sa saya. This is the first time Ferelle High, gathere the Prom Night at kasabay pa nito ang anniversary. How Ironic.

Bukas talaga agad, hindi man lang sinabi lately.

"Zhade, are your ready for your first prom night here?"

I roll my eyes of her question. "Nope, hindi naman ako pupunta  nang Prom. It was just a waste of time." Sagot ko.

"Ha, you sure? I thought you like party?"

I sigh. "Noon 'yon Gale. Not now."

"You need to attend Zhade, this will be your the first night there. Did you know that the night is the peace than the day? Come on, this is my wish of my birthday tomorrow kaya kahit ito lang 'yong gift mo saakin ang pag-attend sa prom bukas. Please." She insist giving me a puppy eyes.

Oo, nga pala birthday niya bukas. I almost forgot, hindi man lang pala ako nakabili nang gift. Mukang no choice, ako nito. I have to attend the grand ball as a gift to her. "Fine, pasalamat ka't birthday mo at hindi ako nakabili nang gift." Pagpayag 'ko.

"Yes! Thanks Zhade!" Punong galak nitong sigaw sabay yakap saakin. "This would be the best gift I ever have."

I smile as I hug her back. "Its your debut.." I whispered.

"Yeah," She nodded.
