Naib looked at the files laid in front of him, papers were scattered all over his desk and thrown around without care. He read the words on those papers over and over again, any clues would be very helpful right now, but Naib is still stuck with no answers. "The Hunters" are still on the high and doing crimes, making his job twenty times harder. What he noticed is that their crimes are random but well planned out, they vary from dangerous crimes like murder to smaller ones like stealing. The most significant one was the death of a police officer after he found the base of "The Hunters." Naib found that he and that officer shared many traits, like occasionally noble, but foolish. He hopes he doesn't end with the same fate in an attempt to better the world. This mafia is only over a hundred years old and the law still hasn't managed to take control over them, he will be the one to end this once for all.
"This case will be the death of me." Naib sat back and pinched the bridge of his nose. He's been studying this mafia for hours with cups of coffee and no breaks, not to mention that his back is killing him right now. But no, he can't take a break now, he has to solve this case. "The Hunters" have been at this long enough and they can't keep it up. He stretched his back, hearing multiple cracks, which he should put some consideration in but he ignored it anyway because that is the least of his concerns.
"One more hour, then I'll rest." The same empty promise he told himself so many times that he lost count, but he's a workaholic and it's a problem. Naib, on the other hand, even thinks that it's a good trait, despite his coworkers telling him otherwise. Some say that "stubborn" is his middle name, Naib never denied it so many actually believed it. They even teased him with nicknames and mocked his habits, he'd threatened one guy with his fist one time, and some of his coworkers backed off after that.
When the clock hit 11 PM, Naib finally decided to stand up for the first time. His legs almost gave up immediately after not being moved for hours, he regained his balance and started to walk out of his office. It was empty, everyone went home for the night, so it was only him and his thoughts. He walked through the halls and corridors until he went to the break room, which had a few tables and chairs, a bulletin board for daily news, a fridge and a microwave. But the thing he uses the most is the coffee machine, Naib at least uses if like 5 times or more a day.
"Fucking assholes didn't clean the machine again." He muttered to himself sullenly, he had to take out the filter before making his own coffee. Naib usually makes pure black coffee for himself because it's the strongest one that could keep him awake for a while, but he realized that he ran out. So he angrily grabbed a frappuccino and stuck it into the machine and drank that himself, he was already grumpy and this made his night a bit worse.
Nonetheless, he got his coffee anyway. Naib took his cup back to his office to work for a few more hours. Just a few more.
