He stared at the blonde with surprise. He felt a nostalgic feeling of seeing the smile plastered on his best friend's face as he stared right at him. Quickly he shook off the feeling as there were many things he wanted to tell the man.
"It's great to see you, b-but what are you doing here?! Isn't it dangerous for someone like yourself to be all alone?" He asked Otto.
"Rest assured, I am all that is needed to protect myself." Otto reassured. "The way you spoke to me just now...and the look in your eyes. They're full of remembrance. You finally remember don't you?"
"Wait what? When did you hear about me recovering?"
"I have my sources."
"Well to answer your question, it's good to see you again my old friend." He tipped his hat to Otto. "Now then... Overseer of Schicksal huh? Look at you having such a position."
"Thank you for the flattery, but I need not your praise."
"Come on, it's not every day your best friend is one of the leaders of the highest power organizations in the world!"
"Yes...'best friend'..." Otto hummed as he then smiled. "Why not go for a walk?"
"A walk?" The Captain blinked at the suggestion. "Sorry, I can't at the moment. I'm busy as of now. How about just talking right here? There's still no customers so I have time to spare currently."
"Mm...that will be sufficient."
Otto sat down on a chair as silence rang between the two.
...
...
"Cookie...?" The Captain offered.
"Do I have to pay?"
"Yes."
"That's no way to treat a friend." Otto bluntly looked at the Captain who smirked.
"You may be my friend, but I'm running a business here." He handed a bag of cookies while receiving cash in return.
"Still the same old same old..." Otto sighed. "No, I'd like to believe that you have changed."
"?"
"Never mind my rambling, friend. All I'm saying is that even back then, you would have me pay for the bread that you've sold outside in the busy streets."
"Haha, I remember those days as if they've happened centuries ago! Of course, they did happen centuries ago!"
"Speaking of centuries...do you have any idea why you reincarnate?"
"..." His smile dropped as he noticed the serious tone that Otto was giving him. "I wish to have an answer but there's nothing I can think of... It's honestly frustrating."
"Why is that? Isn't the idea kind of...splendid?"
"Hell no!" He felt himself go defensive on the question. "I don't know about you, but something just leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the thought of being reincarnated while forgetting all your memories. In my case, I was just a different person with no recollection of who I was, the only coincidences were the fact that my first and last name were the same alongside a bit of my personality being similar in these lifetimes."
"..."
"Can I ask you something, Otto?"
"What is it, F/N?"
"Is there...uh...is there a reason why EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE...hates you?"
"Well....truthfully, you may call it childish."
