We have kind of just resumed forward to a year later. When I'm 10 and Ashley is 12. It's the last day spring holidays. Term 2 is starting tomorrow. There's a lot you've missed over the months. Ashley and I now have separate rooms. Ashley requested it. Don't understand why. Mum took the day off. Dad just arrived back from the bakery. He came back with croissants. "Dad, why didn't you get the chocolate ones?" Ashley complained. So ungrateful. She prefers sweet croissants while I prefer savory and plain. We all sat down and started eating. Ashley sat up from her half eaten croissant on her phone and walked up the stairs. She soon came back down, wearing some grey t-shirt with a logo with denim shorts. She was about to walk out the door when, "Ashley where are you going?" "Oh uh, I was just going out to meet up with Georgia and Olivia." "Where?" "Just that new cafe in town with the smoothies and stuff." "Okay then but be back in time for lunch." Now that Ashley was 12 she goes out more now. Alone or with friends. But she's still in primary school. She also likes to get out of the house because of me sometimes. While I would much rather swim. I ran up to my bedroom and got my favorite swimsuit out, I got my blue and white gradient bathers and ran downstairs and I went into the pool. We also added a pool to our backyard. I somersaulted into the pool. Ashley wanted to have a pool because all her friends have one. And by friends I mean Georgia and Olivia and all her other stuck up rich friends. I did dives and flips into the pool. If Ashley was in the pool I would splash her. I loved doing that
Through A few hours finally passed and Ashley finally came back. Just in time for lunch. Mum was cooking falafel. Just in case you don't know what falafel is, it's kind of like deep fried balls. They're delicious and we barely have them. As soon as they were served up I I chucked one in my mouth. Which was a mistake because they were burning hot. I spat it out. "Skylar, can you please get changed and dry yourself before you eat?" Mother asked. I remembered my swimsuit was still on so I quickly ran up and changed, I got a striped t-shirt and some jeans and I tied my hair into a high ponytail. I ran back down. And I started chucking them in my mouth again. "Use some cutlery you greedy pig." Ashley said to me. Dad quickly reacted to that. "Ashley, apologize to your sister, that was very rude." Ashley rolled her eyes. "Sorry." She said sarcastically. I was finished first of course and I sat down on the couch and started to read "The One and Only Ivan" it was a little sad, I had nearly finished it. Ashley started playing her flute in her room. How do I know this? Because I heard her. She's very loud when she plays it. It's meant to be a quiet instrument but Ashley definitely didn't play it like that. She's been playing the flute ever since she was 7. Even with 5 years experience she still plays bad. Sometimes I wish I could throw that thing out. Nothing against flutes just against how Ashley plays the flute. "Can you be any quieter?!" I shouted. Suddenly the flute playing stopped. Ashley came down. She had the flute in her hand, say next to me and blew the flute in my ear. "Gladly." Then she started playing right there when I'm trying to read, this wasn't quiet. "Can't you see I'm trying to read?!" "At this very second... no!" She was so annoying! I snatched the flute out of her hand and blew loudly into it in her ear. "Yuck Skylar you realize now I have the share your spit?!" Breath, actually.
At dinner,
I finally finished the book, although it took longer than expected. We were having tacos tonight. With hard shell. Good, something crunchy for dinner. I can't wait for tomorrow!
