Katherine and Killian strolled down the docks, the sound of the waves crashing against the pier providing a steady backdrop to their footsteps. The air was cool, and the sky above was a hazy shade of gray as they walked side by side, an easy silence between them.

As they rounded a corner, a familiar figure came into view—Mr. Smee, standing by a stack of crates, looking as eager as ever. The old man straightened up the moment he spotted them, his face lighting up in excitement.

"Captain!" Smee called out, his voice filled with nostalgia as he hurried over. "It's so good to see you again!"

Killian raised an eyebrow, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "Smee," he greeted with mock warmth, his voice tinged with amusement.

Smee's eyes flicked to Katherine for a moment, then back to Killian. "Still planning to kill the Dark One, are we?"

Killian's smirk widened. "Of course, I am."

Smee nodded enthusiastically. "Good, good. Well, I think I have something that might help with that," he said, pulling off his worn, woolen hat and holding it out. "Last night, Mr. Gold—well, the Dark One, he enchanted my hat so I could cross the town line and keep my memories."

Killian's expression faltered for just a moment, his smirk morphing into something darker, more thoughtful. But before he could say a word, Katherine's face lit up with a mischievous smile.

"Did he now?" she said, turning to Killian with a gleam in her eyes. "I think I have an idea. And it has been so long since we've had fun together."

Killian raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by the shift in her tone. "What are you getting at, love?"

Katherine's grin widened as she leaned in closer to him, her voice dropping to a playful whisper. "For so long my father has only wanted one thing, finding his son. We're going to take that from him."

The sound of the creaky library door echoed through the quiet space as Katherine stepped inside. Belle had been working among the shelves, dusting and carefully arranging books in preparation for the library's grand opening. The soft thud of Katherine's boots on the hardwood floor startled Belle, who looked up in surprise when she noticed Katherine standing between the bookshelves.

"Didn't mean to scare you," Katherine said with a smile, her tone light and casual. "I just wanted to talk."

Belle blinked, still recovering from the surprise. "Oh. Okay. What did you want to talk about?"

Katherine took a step closer, her smile never wavering. "Well, really, I just wanted to check in on you. I mean, being freed from my mother, moving in with my father of all people... it must be taking quite the toll on you."
