A New Life

*Meggie's POV*

We landed on the pod at the MVA headquarters, everything hurt like a bitch, not just my hand. It's normal when traveling through the multiverse. MVA agents walked in and was confused about both men in gray.

"That's him," one of them said.

They hauled him up and dragged him to the chair. Just then, the other one backhanded me across the face so hard I didn't even feel the sting out of shock. Oh no, they got the wrong one!

"Wait, that's him, that's Yulaw!" Funsch shouted.

Off course he noticed the wedding ring imprint. Dad looked at me like he was going to kill me. Maggie and Mr. Law hugged tightly.

"Let me talk to him!" I said.

"There's no time, he needs to go where he belongs," the agent captain said.

"Give me one minute, I'm his daughter."

"One minute!"

"Wormhole opens in one minute," the computer said.

I walked to Dad, he was strapped tightly in the chair.

"You're lucky I'm strapped Megan, I could turn you over my knee and give you a good and hard thrashing.

"Dad-"

"Don't Dad me, it's your fault I didn't kill both of them, you spoiled your own birthday, it's your fault I'm strapped here, YOU BETRAYED ME!"

I never heard Dad shriek at me. He was so mad.

"I could've become The One, but you and your weak little friend had to step in. I shouldn't have brought you along!"

"If you hadn't, I wouldn't have understood how power hungry you've become. I love you...but you right now, sitting in that chair wanting to harm me for trying to help Mr. Law and Maggie. I could've done more, I could've saved Mrs. Law from you. You're a monster Dad. Are you seeing and hearing yourself?"

I was trying to hold back tears.

"Metaphorically speaking, you've become The One already."

"I'M NOT, BECAUSE OF YOU, I'M NOT!"

"Dad shhhh, calm down."

"Megan-"

Both my hands were on his cheeks.

"Daddy look at me...look at me."

He looked at me.

"I still love you so much after all that's happened in less than 24 hours. I hope I can visit you-"

"The Hades universe is not for visitors, you will never see him again unless you end up like him, make his mistakes," the agent captain said.

That was when I let it all out.

"Daddy!"

I hugged him.

"Twenty seconds," the computer said.

I let go and stroked his cheek.

"I love you Dad, you'll always be The One in my heart."

Dad smiled as warm as fresh chocolate chip cookies.

"It's time," the captain said.

"Bye Dad."

I kissed him on the cheek and ran back to Funsch.

"Wormhole opens in five...four...three...two...one."

And just like that, he was gone for good. I kneeled down sobbing and holding my broken hand.
