Once I was finished unpacking Sammy walked in with a tub of ice cream and two spoons,
But that wasn't it the flavor killed me instantly
Mint.
Chocolate.
Chip.
Yessssssssss
Me and this kid were going to be very very good friends.
He must've noticed me staring because he plopped down next to me on the floor and handed me a spoon,
"It's my way of welcoming my new roommate and seat partner" he said opening the packaging and wearing a proud smile on his face
Did he say seat partner ?!
Oh my-
"Well yknow unless you already made plans to sit with Sean" he gave me a curiously questioning look
"No haha I'd love to be seat partners with you, me and Sean are just friends" I explained emphasizing the word 'just' as much as I possibly could.
I'm glad I could make a friend good enough to want to be my seat partner
He gave me a "hmm" and continued eating ice cream
"This is amazing"
"I am in love with this ice cream" I added to my statement
"I will marry mint chocolate chip ice cream. This is a thing now. It's going to happen" I said and Sammy started laughing uncontrollably
"Well you don't wanna do that, then there won't be any space in your heart for me" I heard a deep familiar voice come from the door way
Sammy had stopped laughing and we both looked over when we realized neither one of us had a voice that deep
After of a few seconds of what I thought would be awkward eye contact, Sammy finally broke the silence
"Sean, nice of you to join us" Sammy said patting in front of us inviting him to the ice cream party.
What would I do without Sammy ?!
My stomach started doing this thing where it wouldn't just be there and do stomach things. It just had to call over his butterfly friends.
It's sad the day your own organs betray you.
He sat down taking the spoon from Sammy's hand, grabbed the tub of ice cream placing his hand on mine, keeping his eyes on mine the entire time he was taking this apparently-big-ass scoop
By the time the spoon made it to his mouth he was called by one of his roommates
"Yo Sean, we're headed out to learn the new drum solos, coming with?" Said the tall stranger with dark brown hair and the biggest sunglasses I've ever seen
"Yeah I'll be there in a sec man" he stuck the spoon in the tub standing up then bending over and practically grabbing both my hands
His face was so close to mine I could feel his scent,
Peppermint and cocoanut
"See you 'round, pretty face" before giving me a wink and heading out
From the corner of my eye I could see Sammy wide-eyed and mouth open in shock or amusement
"Oh this is so much better than HBO" Sammy said as soon as Sean left,
Yup, definitely amusement, he chuckled and kept eating the ice cream off of his spoon
Tomorrow is the first day of real drum corps
Well maybe I won't have drill near him
Right ?
