Tiana let herself into the Dunphy house, as she usually did, to find Haley, Luke, Manny, Phil and Claire all in the kitchen. Manny was staying with them for a bit while Jay and Gloria were on vacation in Mexico.

She walked into the kitchen mid-conversation. "I still don't get why you passed up a free trip," Luke said.

"Because they're meeting twenty-three Colombians who call my mom 'la tranquila', the quiet one. Hey, Tia." Manny said.

"Morning, guys."

Tiana stood next to Luke as Manny played the video that Jay and Gloria had sent from Mexico.

"Hola, familia! Happy Thanksgiving!" Gloria's loud voice sounded from the laptop, "And happy birthday tomorrow, Luke!"

"Yeah, Luke, we didn't forget about you, we got you a great present here in Mexico," Jay said, "See you when we get back! Bye, bye bye! See you soon!"

Tiana was sat at the kitchen island, watching Luke prepare some of the food when the power went out. She insto i rely grabbed Luke's arm, letting go almost as quick as she'd grabbed him.

They decided to move the party to Jay and Gloria's house, which was bigger anyway. Tiana sat down on the couch in the living room, next to Manny.

"So, you like a man who cooks, huh?" Manny asked.

Tiana whipped her head around to face the boy. "Manny, it's not-"

"Like that? Sure it's not, Tia. I've seen the way you look at him, as if he's the greatest thing to grace planet earth."

"He's my best friend."

"Friends don't look at friends like that."

Tiana let out a sigh. It'd feel good to get it off her chest, and Manny wouldn't blab. She looked around to make sure no one else was there to hear.

"Fine," she said, "Fine, I like him. Now what?"

"You do? I was actually just going out on a whim there. I could tell by your aura that you were experiencing romantic attraction, but I didn't know to who, so I used Luke as a decoy. I thought you'd be so desperate to deny it that you told me your actual crush, but here we are."

"Jesus, you're a freak."

"Why Luke?"

The two looked into the kitchen for a brief moment to see Luke and Phil stressing about something, running around the kitchen like a pair of madmen.

"Jesus. I don't know. He's kind of a moron. But he's so sweet, and charming in his own way. He's so protective of me, too. There are things I've told him that I wouldn't dream about telling anyone else. And those arms. That hair. God, that face."

"Sounds like more than a crush."

"Don't get it twisted, Manny. I like him, I think he's cute. I'm not about fall in love. I'm just... pining."

"Pining for who?" A voice sounded behind them. Haley. Haley would definitely snitch to Luke, even with good intentions, and their friendship would be ruined.

"No one!" Manny and Tiana said in sync.

"So you'll tell Manny but not me? Come on, Tia, you tell me everything about boys."

"Well, I'm growing. Excuse me for confiding in someone my own age."

With that, Tiana got up and headed to the kitchen, but was interrupted by an entrance from Jay and Gloria.

"Hola, family!" Gloria yelled, "We came back early because we miss you."

"We saw the cars," Jay said, "What, did you move the party here?"

"We saw the cars," Jay said, "What, did you move the party here?"

Tiana was about to walk into the kitchen, when Phil stopped her. "Tia! Bread? You seem drunk," he said.

"I'm... fifteen. Why do you have so many bread slices?" Tiana said, before walking over to Luke.

"Tia, help. The turkey came out really small, and it's not big enough at all for everyone. This is a disaster. The one time me and my dad are in charge and-"

"Hey, chill out. Why are you so panicked?"

"Because everyone's gonna be mad."

Luke didn't actually care if everyone was mad, he knew that they wouldn't stay that way for long, plus it was Phil who did most of the work, so he'd get most of the blame.

He actually just wanted to impress Tiana by having some part in the cooking, and now it was all messed up by the weird, shrinking turkey.

"Luke, it's okay, no one's gonna be mad. It's not your fault. I mean, your dad was mainly in charge of the turkey, right?" Tiana stood behind Luke. In a few months, he'd grown to be taller than her. Not way taller, but taller. She rubbed her hands up and down his arms, which seemed to calm him down slightly. "You're fine."

"You're right. Let's plate this up," Luke began grabbing multiple plates, but Tiana stopped him.

"Pretty sure you'll only need one."

"Right."

Luke and Tiana walked out to the foyer, Luke holding the plate of turkey in hand.

"Dinner is served," Luke said, displaying the 'meal'.

"I don't understand, does everybody get one?" Haley asked.

Tiana then realised they seemed to be in the middle of a discussion. "I was just going to sub in my turkey if you got in trouble, which, I mean..." Claire picked up a piece of turkey from the plate.

"Well, now you touched it, so you, Alex and Haley will share that one," Phil said, "Dark meat for your dark, untrusting soul!"

"You know, this was a bee and new backpack, and now it's got turkey juice all up in it!" Cameron yelled.
