Ever since she was born, Y/n Lehnsherr always found herself by her older brothers side, especially after their mother died. Having been forced to work on her special abilities growing up by a man she considered to be evil, Y/n found herself hardly e...

THE EVENING WAS COMING. The sun had slowly begun to set about an hour or so ago for the many scientists working in the building, giving them the signal that they could head home and back to their families for the night before heading to work the next morning. A whole day had gone by since the group of younger mutants had gotten to know one another and their abilities better when the little get together had turned into them dancing to the music they had played, some having flaunted their abilities.
In the same room they had been in the night before, those same mutants could be seen sitting around. The window had been fixed overnight, blocking the outside from the group. In the corner of the room, Alex had his attention stuck on an arcade machine as he listened to Darwin beside him, the older man having been watching him the entire time as he made comments about how big his score on the arcade machine game was getting, only making Alex more cocky. The others were sitting on the sofas when two men in suits began to walk by, stopping at the sight of them.
"Oh, I didn't know the circus was in town. Hey, come on, honey. Give us a little..." One of the men begin as he looks at Angel, using his hands to gesture to wings and when she just stares at him, he looks at Hank. "No? Come on, let's see the foot."
When Hank had stood up to his feet, the man seemed to grow excited as if thinking that Hank would actually show his prehensile feet, calling him the same words Alex had mentioned the night before. Big foot. However, Hank had pressed a button on the wall while giving the man a slight wave before the curtains from the outside of the window completely covered the two men from seeing them.
"They're just guys being stupid." Raven speaks up when she notices Angel's expression.
"Guys being stupid, I can handle. Okay? I've handled that my whole life." Angel admits. "But I'd rather a bunch of guys stare at me with my clothes off than the way these ones stare at me."
"At us." Y/n corrects, eyes on her lap.
Hank found himself looking at her with a frown just when a distant rumble echoed throughout the air. This caught everyone's attention as they looked around in confusion, Darwin having been the first person to speak up as he wondered what they were all wondering.
What was that sound? The man had looked uneasy now as he and Alex joined the others, who stood up to their feet just when another rumble echoed. They watched as Darwin pressed the same button Hank had pressed earlier, all of them looking out the window curiously.
Their eyes all caught sight of something in the sky and as Y/n looked closer, she realized that one of them happened to be the same man who had brought them to this facility in the first place. The person holding him let go, the groups now wide eyes watching as the man fell from the sky until his now lifeless body landed right in front of the window.
All of them jumped back in fear, Raven having let out a slight scream while doing so. Many more bodies were being dropped from the sky, their screams being cut off as their bodies slammed on the ground, killing them instantly.
Guards were soon rushing out into the courtyard, guns in hand as some shouted at the group to get back and away from the window. All of a sudden, a man with red skin color appeared in front of them, to which the group of mutants shouted at the guards that he was right there.
The guards immediately started shooting as the red mutant disappeared and reappeared, guiding a gun to break the window. As the glass and bullets flew everywhere, the group were screaming as they crouched down behind a sofa. Y/n felt herself being pulled down, following the arms to see Hank had been the one to pull her down.
Hearing a loud gust of window, their wide eyes all watched as a tornado was moving around at the back of the facility, destroying Hank's ball lab as it took over the structure. When they heard more gunshots, they looked back at the other window to see the red mutant now killing the guards with sharp objects in his hands.
Darwin had been the first to do something, objecting the idea of staying in the room as he ushered for the others to follow. They were running out of the room and down the small hallway, seeing guards at the end who started shouting at them to get back into the room. Many voices shouting could be heard as Darwin claimed they could help.
When an explosion emitted from down the end of the hall and began making it's way towards them, the mutants had no other choice than the rush back into the room they had been in, the tornado from before having gotten bigger and bigger. The same red mutant was killing more guards at the other window just when a man had been thrown against the other window from the impact of the tornado, his lifeless body falling into the room and in front of the group.
The red mutant had finished off the guards, stepping into the room on one end when another men stepped in at another, the tornado having disappeared just when gunshots echoed from outside.
"Wait! You want the mutants?" A muffled voice from the other side could be heard. "They're right through that door. Just let us normal people go. We're no threat--"
The guard's voice had been cut off, a followed thump to the floor being heard. It was then that Y/n felt her breath hitch in realization, knowing who was on the other side of that door. Hank noticed and took her hand in his. Her fears grew when the door opened and Sebastian Shaw walked right through, a helmet on his head. His eyes looked around the group, smirking at the sight of the Lehnsherr girl before looking to the two men who had been attacking the guards.
"Where's the telepath?" Shaw questions.
"Not here." The red mutant's accented voice replies.
"Too bad. Well, at least I can take this silly thing off." Shaw comments before taking the helmet off, eyes looking back at the mutants. "Good evening. My name's Sebastian Shaw. And I am not here to hurt you."
A deep voice shouting out the word 'freeze' made everyone look over, seeing a guard was now on the courtyard, gun aimed at the bad people. The red mutant, known as Azazel when Shaw said his name, had teleported to the guard and killed him without any mercy. This had Y/n tensing, blinking back the tears that wanted to escape as she noticed Shaw looking at her with a smirk, walking towards them.
"My friends, there's a revolution coming." Shaw starts, giving his helmet off to the other mutant with him. "When mankind discovers who we are, what we can do, each of us will face a choice. Be enslaved or rise up to rule. Choose freely, but know that if you are not with us, then, by definition, you are against us. So, you can stay and fight for the people who hate and fear you, or you can join me and live like kings. And queens."
Y/n had taken notice that his eyes were now looking at Angel, seeing his hand was slightly outstretched towards her after taking notice of the mutant's face. It surprised the group when Angel placed her hand in his, letting him lead her towards the broken window and in the direction where Azazel had been standing with the other mutant following behind them. Angel stopped when Raven's voice called out her name, all of them looking at her in disbelief.
Sean raises a brow in disbelief. "Are you kidding me?"
"Come on. We don't belong here." Angel tells them, shaking her head. "And that's nothing to be ashamed of."
And with that, she and Shaw walked out of the room and towards Azazel with the other mutant, Angel having ignored Darwin when he tried to hold his hand out towards her. The group all watched the other mutants, knowing they needed to do something. Darwin took a deep breath in, turning to face Alex that had the blonde looking at him in confusion. The others watched as Alex pushed Darwin's hand off his arm with an angered expression.
"Stop. I'm coming with you." Darwin calls out, walking towards them.
Shaw smiles, stepping forward. "Good choice. So, tell me about your mutation."
Darwin shrugs as the others had moved to the middle of the room. "Well, I adapt to survive. So, I guess I'm coming with you."
Shaw nods. "I like that."
The man was leading Darwin to his group, watching as he moved to stand beside Angel. When Darwin's voice called out Alex's name, Alex was shouting at the others to get out of the room. With her hand in Hank's, them, Raven and Sean all ran out of the room as Alex used his abilities to throw large red rings towards Shaw. As he did that, Darwin had formed the same substance from earlier around his torso as he blocked himself and Angel Unfortunately, Shaw had been able to catch the rings Alex thrown at him, using his own abilities.
Shaw raises a brow. "Protecting your fellow mutants? That's a noble gesture. Feels good."
Azazel had taken Angel from Darwin's arms, who's eyes widened when he saw nothing happened to Shaw. When the evil man turned to him, Darwin went to send a punch towards him but Shaw had been able to stop his arm, grabbing his jaw. Forcing his mouth open, Shaw used his abilities to put something into Darwin's mouth, forcing it in him. Alex had no choice but to watch as Shaw disappeared, taking the other two mutants and Angel with him just as Darwin's entire body began to shake profusely.
The blonde continued to watch as Darwin's entire body had changed into a metal-like substance, showing the thing that Shaw had put into his mouth was changing him completely. A red glow could be seen through the cracks of the rocks when Darwin changed to look like stone. The dark skinned man looked towards Alex, his face changing a bit to look like his normal self as he held out his arm towards the younger man. Alex was able to see Darwin's real gaze one last time before he exploded into pieces.
