Sonic walks alongside Bob Ross, hands intertwined. They swing their hands as they walk to Northwood Park, where they were going to have a picnic date. Bob Ross has the picnic basket in his unoccupied hand and there is a bottle of Cherrubert Wine sticking out the top.
Sonic smiles to himself. Today was going to be a great day. Him and Bob were a few months into their relationship, just a little while before their 1 year anniversary. They had been casually dating this whole time, but today...today was the day Sonic was going to make it official. He was going to ask Bob Ross to be his boyfriend.
Unbeknownst to Sonic, Bob Ross was thinking the same thing. He had realized a few days into their relationship that he loved Sonic. Sonic was someone Bob wanted to spend the rest of their life with, someone he wanted to wake up next to every morning, someone he wanted to spend intimate time with. He had held back from asking due to him feeling like Sonic wasn't ready. Unlike Bob, Sonic had never been in a relationship before and Bob didn't want to rush things.
Both members of the date were lost in their thoughts, anxious for the time to ask the other what has been on their minds for a while. Soon, they were at the entrance for Northwood Park. The large gate towering over them. They stopped walking, turning to look at each other. Sonic looked up at Bob, face covered in a soft blush. Bob was looking down at Sonic, a gentle smile on his face.
"We're here, love." Bob stated, eyes full of adoration.
Sonic grinned, looking at the entrance again, "Yeah, we are. You ready?"
Bob nodded, and with that, the two began walking inside the park. Looking around, the park was full of life. There were people walking along the dirt road, some on dates as well and some walking their pets. The grass was a lavish green, tall but not too tall, and had patches of flowers everywhere. The park wasn't big per se, but it wasn't small either. It was a hot spot for dates due to how beautiful the park looked. The main attraction, though, was the center of the park, where a huge fountain resided.
Bob and Sonic walked along the dirt road, admiring the flowers as they passed by. They came across a rose bush a few ways in. The roses were a beautiful, dark red. Sonic stopped walking and pointed to the rose bush when Bob looked at him in confusion.
"Look at how pretty these roses are, Bob." Sonic said, "I want to plant a garden one day. Maybe when we buy a house together."
Bob looked at Sonic in shock, who was looking up at him with a smirk on his hedgehog face. Bob had not expected something like that. A house? Him and Sonic? Bob couldn't believe it. His face spread into a wide smile, his love for Sonic had greatly swelled. His heart was beating a little faster at the thought of a future with Sonic. A beautiful garden in their backyard as they admired the beauty of it inside, drinking a cup of coffee and cuddling on the couch.
Sonic, on the other hand, was anxiously waiting to see Bob's reaction to what he said. He wanted to know what Bob thought about them living together one day. Bob looked down at him, in shock, and Sonic smirked up at him to hide how scared he really was. Why did Bob look shocked? Was that too soon? Did he not want to spend his future with Sonic?
All of Sonic's doubts and worries were erased when Bob looked at him with a smile so wide it must have hurt his face. Sonic's smirk melted into a smile as well, seeing Bob be so eager for a future with Sonic made his stomach fill with butterflies. His heart beat a little faster at seeing Bob so happy.
Bob leaned down, bringing Sonic into a soft kiss that was full of love. It was only a short kiss, barely lasting longer than a few seconds, but it felt like forever to Sonic and Bob. This kiss meant so much to the two of them, it meant love, adoration, but most importantly...a future together.
After the kiss, the two spent a bit just looking into the other's eyes. They were able to see the love that the other guy's eyes held.
They heard a cough from behind them, dragging them out of the intimate moment. Both Bob and Sonic turned around to look at who had ruined the moment. To their surprise, they see a short, Italian man wearing a red shirt with jean overalls over it. They had large, brown shoes on as well. His fluffy, brown hair partially hidden under a big, red hat with the Letter M in the middle.
"Who the fuck are you?" Sonic asked, annoyed at the man for ruining his moment with Bob.
"It's-a me, Mario." The Italian man said with a heavy accent, thick eyebrows furrowed.
Bob looked on at the scene with a slight glare at the ital- Mario.
Mario looked at Sonic, then at Bob. "How can you do this to me, Bob?! After all we've been through together!"
Sonic looked confused, he turned to Bob searching for answers, "Bob, what is he talking about?"
Mario just glared, crossing his arms. "Yeah, Bob," he said with a mocking tone, "Care to explain to this blue bitch what's going on?"
Sonic gasped, offended, "Blue bitch? Excuse me you poor ass plumber who can't even wear the right shoe size, I have a name you know!"
The two scowled at each other. Bob just sighed and turned to face Sonic.
"Sonic," Bob started, "This is Mario...My ex."
Sonic frowned, looking at Bob. His ex? What? Then he just got angrier and angrier. Who does this ex think he is?! Trying to pick a fight. This Mario still chasing after someone who doesn't want him anymore.
Sonic felt a flare of possessiveness come over him.
"He isn't your boyfriend anymore, so if you can kindly fuck off. We're on a date right now."
Mario frowned, he looked at the blue bitch who could barely be taller than Toad. He raised his fist.
"Let's fight, bitch."
Sonic smirked, fist raising as well.
"Bring it on, plumber boy."
Bob just sighed, walking off to the center of the park. He didn't want to deal with this. It was the fifth time this week this had happened.
Behind Bob, there was a huge blast of air. Bob just groaned, he hoped that the explosion didn't ruin the park.
