We were there for a long time, and the captain didn’t respond. We stayed down deck for an hour or so, and at one point, we heard another loud noise. But now, water was flowing in from a hole. When the water reached our ankles, we decided to climb up deck, since, we didn’t want to drown.

We didn’t see him at first, but when we got to the helm, we saw Victor lying on the floor. We looked at him very carefully; analyzed every inch of his body, but he seemed to be dead. So we tried to wake him up, but he didn’t even move one bit. So, we checked his pulse. But it was no use because he was dead. I was about to call for emergency, but I saw that the phone was broken. Like anyone would've done, we panicked. I was wondering what the sound we heard earlier was, so I looked around and saw that we had crashed on an island. Which is not the island that we were supposed to be on. We went to the island because the water kept filling in. We took our things and left the boat. The water was up to our knees, now, so it was hard to get to the island.

We were on the beach, laying on the soft sand, when we saw the boat sinking. Only then, we knew what we had done was right.

I was shocked, I was just staring at the horizon, at the waves coming up, and down. Unable to move, trying to process what had just happened.

Then, I started to panic. I started to sweat a lot. I was panicking so much I thought I was going to faint! Then, I collapsed onto my knees, face in my hands, crying. So many things were happening right now. It became overwhelming. I looked around and saw Mia crying just like me. So, I came into focus. I went to Mia, who was sitting adjacent to me, and gave her a massive hug. I don’t know how long it lasted, but it felt like what was eternity. Then, we finally let go.
