The world seemed to stop on this very day, when the Element Kingdom gathered in one place to watch a twice-in-a-lifetime event.
It was finally the day of the upcoming solar eclipse, where the moon would overshadow the sun and create a beautiful burning ring. Both the sun and moon looked almost magnified against the sky, and it was a day the kingdom was sure to never forget.
People lined up for hours and gathered in the courtyard to watch. Sage, Ethan, Robin and Meadow stood on the stage with newcomer Quincy, as Cole stood with the crowd to watch.
"It's almost time to do the announcements!" Sage squealed. She clapped her hands up, hushing the crowd and catching the attention of everyone there. "Attention, everyone! In less than a minute, the moon will cross over the sun, creating a solar eclipse!"
Ethan smiled, taking the reins. "And anywhere else in the world, it would stay creating a ring of light for all to watch safely and enjoy!"
Robin jumped. "But in our magical kingdom, we can do something never before seen!"
Meadow stepped forward, preparing the magic in her mind. "Today, we bring you a marvelous rainbow lightshow, straight from the power of the sun!"
As Meadow turned around to meet her friends, Sage smiled. "Meadow, are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be!" Meadow smiled.
Everyone here knew that Meadow Keynote, a queen of the Element Kingdom, was a Celestial and the most powerful person in the world. But still, no one truly had an idea of what she could do.
As the moon and the sun inched closer to each other, the crowd stirred and squealed. Meadow turned her head, preparing for something she hadn't really had the chance to practice.
Cole smiled to himself, watching his sister take control. He was so proud of her.
"And now!" Meadow smiled, holding her hands out and preparing to catch the light. "Citizens of the Element Kingdom, I bring you, the greatest rainbow the world has ever seen!"
She didn't even get the chance to do anything.
A rumble, almost like scraping, shook the entire ground. Meadow was caught off balance, her arms coming down, not even using her magic at this point. And the moon and the sun were coming closer together. The crowd gasped, eyes fixated on the sky.
"What the-?" Ethan gasped. "What's happening?!"
The rumbling became louder. Louder.
"Oh, fuck!" Robin yelled, but it wasn't audible.
And with a supersonic boom, muffled and almost inaudible, the moon collided into the sun, destroying both of the planets and sending massive asteroids barreling towards the planet.
"Run!" Robin yelled to the crowd, grabbing Quincy.
"Wha—" Quincy was scooped up by Robin, held like a surfboard under their arms. "What's happening?!"
A meteor hit the palace directly, as stones and brick toppled from the building.
"Shit!" Sage jumped, stepping away. She grabbed Ethan's hand.
"Guys!" Meadow yelled. "Get out of here! Go!"
"Where are we gonna go?!" Robin yelled back.
"We're not leaving you!" Sage tightened her grip around Ethan's hand.
