Betrayal of a Heart.

I thought it would go away...

the pain,

from months ago.

But I was wrong.

Your eyes shimmered,

and you laughed

as tears stained my face.

I remember feeling-

no-

I remember thinking

that I should've seen

that coming.

I should've expected your

abrupt goodbye

the moment we met.

I was just another

innocent notch

on your to do list.

Nothing more-

nothing less.

At first I was angry-

but then the

only thing I felt at all...

was sadness.

I trusted you,

and told you my

secrets.

I let you see me cry.

And you know what's funny?

I wouldn't change it for a second...

that was my first

betrayal of a heart.
