Chapter 13 - bakery

[this is months after chapters 9 and 10,]

in the last 8 months not much has happened, Azzy had her birthday in December, mimu in January, and kepo in march,school ended a few week after her birthday. Kepo was quite smart too, passing the 12th with no fails, despite being in a constant state of sleep deprivation. Milan moved into a room alone, and Mimu convinced mother to open a bakery and let them run it, [she was thinking of making one anyway but let him think he gave her the idea,] she thought the place would burn if she let Mimu completely run it to she put Kepo in charge [because the rest are yes underage] and her and grandma would check in every day or so. the 9 made recipes or asked mom and grandma for theirs, [the ones they would share] it was more so a café, since people mostly came for coffee and to sit and talk, there was this usual who Mimu always talked to, and despite always looking angry, he would answer, he always had head aches and somehow guessed everyone's name but never looked at him, him and Mimu even made a game, Mimu would try and take his hat and he would call him out, or maybe he just wanted his hat.

the girls [Azzy, Rose and Milan] had stoped trying to get Eirn and Aloe to talk, Milan thought they would zone out again but rose's theory was they would have a heart attack. Aloe didn't go to the café often because most of the time when it was open Eirn was there, so Rose didn't go much either.

today it was just random people, Mimu was at the counter taking orders when Kepo left with her things, before he could question it the regular walked in, Mimu didn't even ask and made his order giving it to him at his seat, sitting across from him this time, talking about anything he could remember, even though he only missed one day he [from what Mimu said] had a lot to catch up on. Azzy walked behind the man, grabbing the hat but not being able to take it off,

"I heard you walking, and Mimu already told me this"

Mimu crossed his arms when he saw that the man had grabbed the hat, asking him why he wouldn't take his hat off, which to that he asked why he never did, he [Mimu] remembered to ask his sister was going, for some reason she was walking down the street instead of driving, running to catch up to her, she was pretty far so he had to wait until he got enough air to talk,

M - "where are you going?"
K - "why are you just now following me? I've been doing this for days"

still not answering each others question first try, both pressed.

M - "you didn't answer my question-"
K - "you didn't either"

with the exact words they said that night, they took a short pause from talking, and the same as that night Mimu started talking again first,

M - "you just walked out, but with your things this time"
K - "its something in the woods, no I don't know what it is"

walking a little more, they got into the forest, where the both of them got a head ache, walking more they reached a hole in the ground, where the head ache got worse, looking in the hole it looked like more woods, but from the sky, not too high, maybe 8 feet off the forest floor. Kepo took a rope, tying it to a tree and to herself, putting two to two he asked if it was safe,

k -"i'm going to check, we might find the scientist"
m - "or get killed!, I might pass out from this head ache!"
k - "you won't, i've been here so long and it hasn't happened yet, it feels a lot better in here,"

walking over she hands him a rope, and because he's Mimu he thinks no more about this, just wanting the head ache to stop he ties the rope to a tree and himself, by this time Kepo is already down and untied from her rope.

walking around the head ache passes, walking up to a school they check the time, 7:56am Kepo says, Mimu walks in, though Kepo doesn't try because of how tall she is, he walks around, not seeing many people, seeing a girl with pink hair he walks up to her and starts talking, telling her everything, the boy [who's hair was cut short with pink in it] tried telling him in 4 minutes why they can't go with him, so he waited for 8 hours just to take them to the hole [now in the sky with rope coming out of it] now it was 3 kids and a 18 year old, Kepo was mostly a gps because she didn't really have the energy to do anything else, Kepo climbed up while the two talked about the head ache they had,Kepo told them to get on the rope and she would pull them up, not thinking right they got on one at a time, now only Kepo and Mimu had the head ache, Kepo went to go get hats for the girl, as the boy said he'd use his hoodie. Mimu asked their names.

J -"i'm jayden and he-"
Ka - "i'm (deadname)."

Cutting Jayden off he nudged her to stop talking, talking quietly to each other Jayden does what kai tells her not to, introducing him as a boy and his name is kai, though Mimu doesn't understand completely and thinks he has 2 names, they try to explain but he just tells them they can just change it, giving up on trying to explain they go away from the hole due to Mimu's headache only going to the edge of the forest. Kepo comes back with a hat, giving it to Jayden. They walk back to the café, it had been hours but while Mimu waited, Kepo went back and said they were going somewhere and would be back in a few hours, at this point the later shift had changed and Mimu still hadn't clocked out, he got 4 muffins and gave one to each of them, while Kepo drove the two finally came to their senses, both sitting in the back start asking questions, tapping Kepo.

Ka - "does transgender exist?"
Ke - "what's transgender?"
J - "I don't think explaining this again matters, are you guys going to kill us?-"
M - "kill you?! I'm not able to kill anything!"
Ke - "we did just kidnap them, just with consent"
M - "we just want to ask you questions!"
Ka - "what are you?"
M - "we are plants but to you we are humans, we have to wear hats so no one asks.
...
M - "wait-"
Ke - "we think we are human, and you do too, and the rest of the people here think they are too, mother will explain better"
J - "is this a cult!?"
M - "whats a cult?"
Ke - "a cult is a group of people with one leader, with the group being devoted to the leader, often killing themselves in large groups"

Mimu [now with a look of worry and confusion] was now asking what wrong with their world. With about everything they listed Kepo and Mimu got more confused.

J - "how old are you guys???"
Ke - "I'm 19 and he's 17"

Stopping at the orphanage and getting out, they walk to one of the offices in the building, thankfully mother was in the room, she opened the door and let them in,hearing details and taking what the scientists had told her about another world he saw she concluded that they were just human, the time line was off, in this world they had already finished school but in theirs they were only about 70% of the way done. It had happened with the scientist too, the first meeting was months apart from the second, but the time line lined up afterwards, so they had to get them back before anyone wondered where they were, when Kepo and Mimu got to the hole it was about 10:15am but the time changed to 7:30am and about the time they got to the school it was 7:56am.

It had been almost 9 hours, the time was 6:47pm. And dinner had been served, so if the time difference was 3 hours and 15 minutes then it was still 3:32pm, at this point they should have been home, so having to rush back,and take them home. When they got back Kepo and mother tried finding out about the headaches and why the time was different, not finding much.

I know how much my friends love reading chapters that average 1,500 words per chapter [they don't] so I'm breaking the chapters up again,
