The world was once so bright.
Bright flashes and intrusive questions,
Sneaky remarks hidden behind false encouragement.

How long does it take to remember it's worth nothing?
Bloody knuckles and broken noses,
Shattered bones and hopeless fights.

Living is not fighting,
Fighting is not living.

What truly is loving, when glitz and glamor fade away?
All these scars,
All those tears.
Those sneaky remarks no longer hide,
But those sneaky remarks cannot hold any weight.

Fighting is not living,
But the sun will always rise again,
And the bird will always sing.
