I Won't Leave, I Can't

Later that night at the hospital, you and Jimin are both admitted. You are in the intensive care burn unit for your burns and toxic smoke inhalation. Jimin is in for overnight observation. Jimin was spared the toxic smoke and heat because he was on the floor, covered in a wet sheet and blanket.

He had some redness, like a sunburn, on his face that was exposed to the heat, but other than that, no burns. They are keeping him overnight because of his minor head injury due to the fact it caused him to lose consciousness.

You saved Jimin from a devastating injury, possibly even death because you drenched the blanket and sheet he was tangled in. But you ran in with only your robe on and suffered terrible burns. 

Your eyes are practically swollen shut now. You have first-degree burns on your face like a bad sunburn, but because your long hair was still wet, it helped save your face from further damage. Your legs and feet got the worse of the heat and smaller flames, and you have painful first, second-degree and third-degree burns.

Because your hands were wrapped up in the wet blanket, gripping it to pull Jimin out, your hands were spared. Your arms are sore from pulling his weight, but it will be okay. Your lungs suffered injury from the toxic smoke, and they had you on a ventilator with medications entering your lungs to keep them open and help them heal.

Taehyung's hands were slightly red from first-degree burns from the heat trying to get to you and pulling you out, and the emergency room staff slathered cooling burn cream on his skin and then lightly dressed it to keep the cream on the burn. Taehyung was beside himself with worry over you and Jimin.

Jimin woke up confused as to where he was. The guys filled him in on what happened at the hotel and that you saved his life. In shock, he goes to sit up, but the nurse gently has him lay back down.

"Mr. Park, you had a nasty knock to the head. You shouldn't be getting up so fast." 

Jimin agreed as the room started spinning. He asks the nurse about you.

 "The doctor says there is a long road ahead to healing, but you should be able to visit tomorrow." 

He smiles, "Thank you."

Taehyung is in your room, gently holding your hand in his bandaged one. You have burns over 36% of your body. They have you in a medically induced coma while your lungs heal and your feet and legs are being treated for second degree and third degree burns.

 The nurse comes in and says, "Mr. Kim, I'm sorry, but visiting hours are over. I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

With tears streaming down his face he says, "No, not, no." He shakes his head at the nurse, then turns back to you, "I won't leave." He whispers, "I can't." and he places a light kiss on your hand.

 The nurse, understanding his pain, places a hand on his shoulder. "Mr. Kim, she doesn't even know you are here with the medication they have given." 

His head whips around to glare at her. "But I know I'm here, so she knows! I won't leave her!" 

She removes her hand and sighs, "It is against hospital policy, but I will let you stay with the understanding that when it is time for us to tend to her burns, you will have to leave the room."

 Taehyung nods without saying a word and turns back to you. He gently rests his head on the hand he holds. 

"I love you, Baby, I love you."
