I know the feeling of reading the textbook because you think it's the best guide available but no. The textbook is bound to have additional information and explanation that is not needed at the moment unless there is a conceptual misunderstanding. This however can also be solved by watching youtube videos. As always our mind is tuned to retaining visual information better than verbal information or texts. This will also reduce procrastination as concepts are being built on in a shorter duration and the mind would not feel bombarded in contrast to reading long essays of information.if you have the time and are just embarking on your journey to GCSEs the textbooks are your way to go. However if under time constraints please do not use them!
