~ Bella's POV ~
I woke up with a splitting headache, lying down on my couch. Funny, I don't remember making it to my couch. Then the memories came flooding back in, I had gone to a party the night before, and Mark was there too. I must've had a few more drinks than usual last night, ohh well I had a good time. I started to hear some noise coming from the kitchen... BANG
"OHH FUCK." I knew that voice, shit it was Mark. I slowly rose off the couch, not trying to move too much to trigger more of my headache, and made my way, slowly, to the kitchen. I saw mark standing there, with egg all over the floor.
"Ohh hey Bella, how you feeling?" he said, trying to stand in front of the egg and block it, acting casual. He was a goof, and it was kinda cute how he pulled it off.
"Ohh pretty banged up, got a splitting headache." I replied as reached my hand to my forehead.
"Yeah, you had a few drinks last night," he replied, "you weren't doing so well, and you fell asleep in the car on the way home, so I brought you inside and laid you down on the couch." so that's how I got on the couch, hmm.
"Aww Mark, that was really sweet of you." He blushed at this, and shyly looked towards the ground, catching his eye on the egg, "and what's the, in the floor?" I said, gesturing towards the egg that had splattered all over the tiles.
"Well.. um... I was gonna make breakfast for you, you know.. like in the movies and stuff, make you feel better" he said, shyly and pausing multiple times.
"Haha well Mark, looks like the floor is doing a better job at cooking than you did." he laughed at this, and it made me feel a bit better. They always said laughter is the best medicine, sometimes they forget to say that making someone else laugh can make you feel just as good. "come on, let's clean that up and give it another shot."
When he cooked, I asked him questions about last night.
"So what exactly happened, like obviously I got shitfaced, but I didn't do anything over the top, did I ?"
"Well there was one thing that happened with me, you were drunk like crazy and you walked up to me, asking if I 'wanted to have fun'" he said, using the 'bunny ears' to quote me.
"Ohh shit, look Mark I'm so sorry."
"It's cool don't worry, after that I checked the time and brought you home, and yeah."
"Seriously, thank you so much for being the responsible person in this friendship."
"No problem, but I think the eggs are ready now," he said, as he pulled the stove off the stove top and turned off the gas. he divided it up, giving me a little bit more, and took it out to the coffee table next to the couch.
"Is it ok if we just eat here?" He asked
"Yeah sure I don't mind, I tend to eat here anyway." He laid down the plates, and scurried back into the kitchen to pour a glass of orange juice for both of us. We both ate quietly, I have to admit he did a pretty good job on the eggs.
"Mark, thank you so much for staying around and making sure I'm ok, it's really nice."
"No problem," he said sweetly, "if you ever want to go out another time just call me I'm always here." after saying this, he stood up, and took my plate into the kitchen for me. After putting them into the sink, he returned and sat back onto the couch, sitting next to me, and switched on the TV.
"There's nothing really good on," he said, flicking through the channels, "stupid TV, you'd think with.."
"Wait, there!" I interrupted, gesturing to a show we just passed, "spongebob!"
"You still watch this show?" he asked
"Pfft stupid question." I replied, and I saw his face light up with my response,
"Spongebob it is." he said, while changing it back to the channel. It was a marathon, so it was a good few episodes, and about half an hour in, I leaned my head down on his shoulder. After what he had done for me the night before, how he had not taken advantage of me, I felt safe with him. He pulled his arm over my head, and out it on my shoulder, and we continued to watch spongebob. I think I must've fallen asleep halfway through, either that or intensely zoned in to what was on the TV, because I suddenly realised that we was playing with my hair, just running my finger through my hair. Although it was a simple act, it reinforced my faith in him, and when he realised I had woken up, he apologised, but I said I didn't mind. I said I didn't mind, but really, I loved it. After a while he went back to it, and we spent the rest of the Saturday just watching Netflix, and at about 3:00, he said he had to start going home.
"Ok bye," I hugged him as he left my house, and he returned the gesture "be safe." I yelled out to him as he was walking away.
"I will." he said, smiling at me and waving as he left. He was so focused on saying goodbye as he left he walked of the path and into my mail box.
"Oops, shit." he said, I just smiled and shook my head. He was so cute when he was a goof. I watched him pull out of the drive way, and he honked his horn on his way out, and I went back inside my house and shut my door, only to make it to the couch and fall asleep again.
