After the attack on the leaf village everyone was told about the losses they sustained. The funeral was being held today and in one house would be Naruko and Y/n who had just finished getting ready. Looking at each other they nod and head out. On there way to the funeral they meet up with Satsuki and Sakura, none of the genin saying a word as they go to the funeral. Once everyone was they they face a large memorial table witch had pictures of the Hokage and other shinobi who lost there lives.
As everyone stood there in silence it started to rain
Kurenai: "It's raining"
Asuma: "Even the heavens weep"
Two people stood at the front addressing everyone as the elders of the village
Homura: "We are gathered here to remember not only the third Hokage, but all those who sacrificed themselves for this battle so that our village would survive"
SHinobi started to line up and one by one they lay flowers at the memorial. Soon it was Y/n's turn, as he placed his flower down he looked at the picture of the Hokage.
Y/n: (Old man.... I'm sorry I couldn't help more in your final battle... but the moves you showed, I'll be sure to use them well to protect everyone)
(Flashback)
A younger Y/n was at the training grounds late at night punching and kicking a large log. Breathing hard he pauses to catch his breath until he hears someone behind him.
Hokage: "Hm, its rather late, why are you here?"
Y/n: "....Training"
Hokage: "Oh, and for what may I ask?"
Y/n: "For my sister, everyone treats us like were monsters, I could care less about myself but I wanna protect her so I gotta be stronger"
Hokage: "Gaining strength to protect those close to you is a very admirable trait" he smiles
(Flashback end)
Stepping off to the side Y/n rejoined the others he smiles looking up as the rain stops.
(Mini time skip)
On a roof top a certain perverted sage is spaying on gir-mean doing some research. Before two of the village council members approach him from behind.
Homura: "still playing the buffoon I see"
Jiraiya: "Just doing some research, so old man Hamura and Koharu sensei. What would you two scholarly advisers want with me"
Homura: "Don't waste our time, you know what this is all about"
The two parties look at each other for a few tense moments
Jiraiya: "Why the long face, I hear talks with the sand village went great"
Homura: "The sand village stated publicly that Orochimaru was responsible for all of this and offered there complete surrender to the leaf village. At the moment there betrayal isn't a concern"
Koharu: "For now we have no choice but to accept there surrender in order to sure our power in the region"
Homura: "That being said the strength of the leaf has taken an enormous blow, our top priory at the moment is preparing for the onslaught we believe will come"
Koharu: "We have no way of knowing when one of the surrounding nations might try to make a play, therefore until the village has regained its strength we decided to gather the top shinobi from each squad and assemble an emergency executive committee to handle the situation. But first we need a strong and trustworthy leader. Its not just Orochimaru its the seed of a far greater struggle"
Jiraya: "Look i'm not sure why your explaining all this to me"
???: "Still as dull as ever huh Jiraya"
A voice spoke drawing attention showing Najenda with a flask in her hand and sitting on a railing.
Najenda: "They want you to fill in sensei's shoes, be the next hokage, am I right"
Homura: "Correct"
Koharu: "The other day at a meeting with the lord of the land of fire it was decided, we chose you Jiraya
Jiraya: "Oh I don't know, its not really up my ally"
Homura: "If not one of the renown sanin isn't suited then who else is?"
The two council members looked to Najenda
Najenda: "No way in hell" was her only response before drinking from her flask
Jiraya raised his hand herring there attention
Jiraya: "If your so set on a sanin, there is another. Your forgetting Tsunade"
The council members look to one another for a moment
Homura: "There's little doubt that the child has the capabilities but it hardily matters, nobody knows where she is"
Jiraya: "I'm sure I can dig her up, you dont have a problem with that do you? Tsunade has the brains for it more then a loafer like me and a drunk like Najenda"
Najenda: "Hey!"
Jiraya: "What do ya say?"
Homura: "Very well then, well give it some thought but well send along three anbu members to join you"
Jiraya: "Don't worry I wont make a run for it, besides your men will just get in the way. Although, there is one girl I wont mind taking along, I've stumbled across a very interesting little egg"
Najenda: "I'm coming too with a plus one of my own, If I stay here I know you'll try to dump the job on me and I kinda owe the kid some training"
(An: Okay the encounter with Itachi and Kisame against the jonin isn't gonna change at all so imma skip over it. Originally I wanted Y/n there but I have something else in mind)
Currently Y/n was leaving the Hyuga clan compound while rubbing his arms soothing his sore muscles. Next to him would be Hinata as the two walked they spoke to each other.
Y/n: "Man my body has never ached like this before, I was surprised when your father asked me to come over"
Hinata: "Y-yeah"
Y/n: "I guess it makes seance though, I pretty much stole your clans dojutsu but still"
Hinata: "I've never seen father act that way before"
Y/n: "Hinata"
Y/n stopped getting in front of the Hyuga girl
Y/n: "Thanks for everything, I couldn't have done any of this without you" he smiled
Hinata: "Y/n"
Y/n: "You think maybe we could grab a bite sometime as a way for me to thank you"
Hinata: her face immediately started to turn red "Y-y/n I uh..."
Y/n: "You don't have to be nervous I wont force ya"
Hinata: "Yes!" she spoke loud or well what passed for loud to her
Y/n: "Great, just let me know when your free and we can go wherever~"
Hinata: "Okay Y/n ill let you know" she smiled
