1. A New Beginning

I was running. Running far from the animal. I dont know what it is. But I can feel it is powerful and fast. I am afraid. I was unable to run anymore. My legs gave up. I hide behind a tree. The creature is behind me. I am afraid to turn my head. I heard its growling sound. I shut my eyes. "I found you, princess."

"Rayzel"

"Wake up"

I opened my eyes to the call of my mother.

"You're sweating. Again nightmare?"

I nodded my head as yes. She patted my head and kissed my forehead.

"You should not read horror books at night my dear. Now get ready for college. It's your first day, you should not be late" She said and left.

But I get the same nightmares in repetition. I thought to myself and hurriedly got ready for college.

I got down the stairs and went to the kitchen to get me breakfast. My mother has left me the note that she is leaving for work early today due to some works.

I reached my college and waited for my best friend who also joined this college. There she is.

"Elena"

"Nyx"

Nyx is my pet name which she used to call me. Because according to her I look more beautiful at night. It is just some foolish reason for her to keep a nickname for me.

"Don't call me that. Someone may think it's my real name"

"Who cares. Come we can loiter the campus before the class starts." She grabbed my arm and pulled me with her.

After wandering for sometimes, we reached our class. Some students were already seated. Myself and Elena occupied the seat before the last row. We dont want to be in the last or in the first. Basically we dont want to be the center of attention. Just our things. She giggled and I silenced her because others turned towards us. Then they went back to their chatting. A girl entered the class grabbing everyones attention. Her appearance screamed classy and badass. She looks really bold like ready to kill whoever comes in her way. She calmly took her seat in front of us. She did not notice us. Elena nudged my arm. I mouthed her what. "Can we make her as our new friend?" She whispered to me. I asked her the reason for her sudden urge to make new friends. She just shrugged to me and poked the shoulder of the classy-vibe-girl. She turned her head to Elena. "Hi, I am Elena." "Hello, myself Ana" Her voice is true to her appearance. "This is my best friend, Rayzel." Ana diverted her gaze to me and she looked shocked. "Queen" She mumbled. "What?" I asked unable to understand what she meant. "Hey, I know my friend is pretty but you're going overboard by calling her queen. Now she will be flying by flattering words." Elena teased me. Ana came out of her daze. "Sorry and yes she is really beautiful so it just slipped from my mouth." She spoke like she is covering up something. "I am Rayzel. Nice to meet you" I extended my hand. She shook my hand "Ana. Pleasure to meet you" "She is already flying. Its tough to bring her down today" Elena teased me. I smiled shyly. My best friend is enough to embarrass me. "Can we be friends? You seem alone." "Yeah, of course. Why not?" Then the teacher entered the class and everyone become silent. She smiled at me and Elena and turned to the teacher. She sneakily used her mobile phone during the class.

The break came after the long lasting classes which seemed to never end. In the break, Elena continuously talked with Ana explaining how we become friends and about our school days not leaving to embarrass me in the middle. "I saw you using mobile in the class and it seemed like you're chatting with someone very urgently." Elena asked and Ana's face turned like caught in the act. She just laughed and said it as nothing. But my curious best friend cannot leave her at peace. "Is it your boyfriend?" Ana smiled shyly and nodded her head as yes. Wow. "Someone in our group has a boyfriend."Elena chirped. "Don't you have one?" asked Ana. "No, we both are singles from birth Elena said proudly." "Don't lie baby. She is lying." I said to Ana. "I have not been in relationships, I just had crushes." She told like she is surrendering. "Only that" I nudged her arms. "Okay, I will tell the truth. Don't tease me. I have went on some dates but anything did not become successful" She smiled shyly. I and Ana laughed at her. "May be your prince charming is waiting for you I think" Ana teased her. "Yeah and I am still searching for him." She spoke with a sad tone. "Don't lose hope, bestie" I encouraged her. "What about you, Nyx?" Ana asked me. But I am shocked. How did she know my pet name? When I opened my mouth, Elena beat me to it and said "She is the one who is true to the phrase I told 'Single from birth.' She did not even have any crushes you know. Very rare. I even tried to set her up in blind dates but she refused to even try." "Oh, it is good to know." Ana replied. "Wait, why it is good? It's really bad not to have any experience with boys." Elena accused me. "It's good because may be her first date could be with her true love and it may go like that.."Ana told with a dazed expression. "I think you also read more fantasy books and watch dramas. But I think she may be a lesbian" She whispered the last part. But I heard it. "You're going to die now" I told her with fake anger. "Babes, its just for fun. Don't take it seriously" She tried to soothe me. "Yeah, I can also kill you for fun. It will be thrilling. Right, Ana?" Ana agreed with me muffling her laughter. Elena ran along with her tray and I followed her. She kept her tray in the counter and ran away in the corridor. I followed her along with Ana.

I chased Elena through the corridor and everyone was looking at us but we did not pay any attention as were busy in our own world. Soon we reached the ground along with Ana. Elena turned to look at me and she did not see who came in front of her. Unknowingly, she pushed a boy and the juice in his hands spilled upon his shirt. She apologized but the boy seemed angry. I put my foot in rescue and apologized to him for my friend. He looked at me and I could not understand his expression. "I am forgiving her for you, beautiful" He said with a tone which I found disgusting. "I am Tom. And you?" I did not wish to respond. The bell rang and Ana came in front of me like protecting me and pulled me and Elena along with her saying that we're late for class. "I will find you, beautiful" I did not turn my head neither Elena nor Ana.

"Unwanted attention" Ana mumbled on our way. "Trouble in the first day. Sorry" Elena apologized. "Don't apologize, Elena. It's common and it may be fun. Right, Nyx?." I nodded my head. "Memorable first day" Elena told and giggled and we laughed with her. The day went on and we, three, left the college and Ana also accompanied us in the bus as her house is in the same route and next to my stop. Elena got off before us and Ana and I chatted. I asked her how she knows my pet name Nyx. She seemed like she is caught off guard. She changed her expression to normal and said that Elena told her. It is believable and I also believed her. Soon my stop came and bid her bye before getting off. My first day in the college went pretty well I think.

"Did you tell him?" Ana asked through the mobile phone. "Yes and he is restless. He wants to meet her immediately." The other voice spoke quietly. "But it is not possible. She does not remember her past." Ana argued. "He wants to speak to you" he told and handed the device to the other person whose aura radiated darkness. "Hello, Ana. Tell me what you found" The voice spoke with authority. "Her name is Rayzel. She is same as before but" She hesitated. "But what?" he asked anxiously. "She is human" She said apologetically. "It's good news, Ana. Don't be sad" He spoke calmly. "But how it is good?" she asked unable to understand him. "You will know" with that he hung up. Ana looked puzzled.

On the other hand, he is beyond happy. "Finally, I found you before him. I won't lose you this time. I am coming for you, my little wolf "
