(During the teenage years, Narrator's POV)
[Have you ever met two teens so much in love that they refer to the other as the other half of their heart?]
My boyfriend, Cole Kennedy and his teammates went out of state for a soccer camp and they were going to be gone for a while. I really missed Cole, and he missed me, at least I hope he did. I heard this from one on his friends that sadness started to show in Cole's personality, so Coach Trent had arranged a surprise. He wanted me to fly out and surprise Cole. I hopped on the next plane I could, and soon I was at the boys' campsite. They were on the field late that night, so I hung out in the cabin until they returned. Once I heard the boys' voices close to the door, I quickly hid. I listened to their conversation. "Lighten up, Cole. You'll see Sapphire soon!" Titus assured.
"Not soon enough. I miss her like crazy. Without her I feel like I'm missing a part of myself, you know? Like the other half of my heart is gone." Cole sighed.
As they walked into the cabin, I jumped out and yelled, "SURPRISE!"
Cole got the biggest smile on his face and ran to hug me. "I hope your heart is full now." I whispered against his lips as he kissed me.
"I couldn't be happier." Cole squeezed me tight.
