"Light it up!"
The keepers threw thier lit torches on thepile of wood and cheers louder as the pile burned a bright light.
I smiled at it. I like it when they celebrated this day. In the day everyone could feel relaxed and free. I love it.
Someone sat nex to me making me out of my dream-thinking. I turned her head to see Minho who grinned at me.
"I didn't know greenie catch your attention. I remembered every greenie who came to you, you send them away." Minho laughed.
"Shut it, Min. It's not like that. He just new, that's all." I said.
Minho scoffed. "Yeah, sure, JJ."
"Stop it, shunk!" I threw my rice at Minho as he laughed.
As we laughed we didn't even notice the new greenie was watching us.
•••"Hey, what's catch your eyes greenie." Newt push his elbow to greenie.
"Wha- nothing." Greenie said awkwardly.
But Newt followed his lead and his eyes catch Jane and Minho argued with each other.
"Oh, them. They're not together, even if it's look like it. They like sister and brother. Like me with her and everyone, so don't worry about that." Newt laughed.
Greenie look confused. "I don't asked-"
"You don't have to but you're face did."
His face down. He thought it wasn't so obvious. "Oh." And look at them again.
"You see them and the guys? There, by the fire?" Greenie followed Newt's gaze as he pointed at the group of gladers by the fire, and again at Minho and Jane. "Those are the runners. The guy in the middle there, that's Minho. He's keeper of the runner."
Greenie still watching Jane. He just couldn't take his eyes of her.
Newt obviously catch it, making him smile at it. "Her, that's Jane. She's the only one girl here, "
"Really?"
"Yeah, still don't know why, but we get used to it."
"Also helping Minho," Grennie looks confused. "yeah, she's also the runner. The fattest runner, after Minho obviously. But still fast enough." Newt said proudly.
Greenie smiled as Newt keep talking about her.
"But when she came up here she looks so scared and she almost has heart atack, but now you couldn't tell she's scared. She's very strong after that. She keeps fighting to shook away the fear that she's here only girl." As Newt talking, they look at her. ••••
I could feel like someone was watching me so I put my hand on Minho's mouth to stop him argued with me, saw Newt and Greenie watching me. I raided my eyebrow but I didn't deal with it much just waved at them. Then I feel pain in my palm becasue Minho bit me making me let out the yell.
"Shuck, Minho!" I hit him on the head making him laugh and so did I.
"Why did you do that? It's not pretty to shut your friend while they making conversation." Minho joked.
I laughed. "Don't be a baby, Min. You just couldn't stop talking so I make you shut it."
Minho scoffed. "Hey!? I thought you like to hear my voice."
"I do, but sometimes it's annoying."
"Really friendly of you, JJ, really." Minho said sarcastically.
"Your welcome." I simply shrugged my shoulders.
"What do you say, Greenie?" Gally voice interrupted our conversation. His breathing was rapid and I know his making no good. "Let's see what are you made of."
I look at Minho who was looking at me. "if something is gonna happen to him I'll stop the fight."
Minho laughs at me. "You already protective of this newbie?"
I scoff. "Of course not! I just didn't want something to be regretted. Are you forget what happend last time? I had to help you out when you were fighting with Gally." I crossed my arms.
Minho put out his hands in front of him. "Okay. I get it."
I nodded my head and grab his hand. "Let's see the fight. I hope I didn't have to do something."
"Greenie, Greenie, Greenie!"
"The rules are simple, Greenie. I try to push you out of the circle... you try to stay in the circle, if don't, your loose." Gally explained to Greenie.
"Please, Greenie. You can do this." I whispered.
"Ready?" Gally charged at the Greenie, shoving him backwards towards a handful of boys who pushed him back up into the fight. But before Greenie could react he was grabbed once more by Gally then was pushed to the ground.
I winced at the Greenie before locking my eyes with him making shivers my whole body as he stood up.
"That's not to gonna let you win, Greenie." Gally smirked. "Come on, Greenie. We're not done yet."
He started to get me angry I must say. I shifted on the place.
"Stop calling me Greenie." This sentence of Greenie earned him a few whistles and now it was my turn to smirk.
"Stop calling you that?" Gally said, circled around him. "What do you wanna be called? Shank?"
They laughed along with Gally except me. I was frowning so much that the wrinkles could see on my face.
It was now quiet but I look at the Greenie who looks as angry as me. He shoved Gally onto the sand. The Gladers let out an 'ooo' at what happened. Gally's eyes were filled with anger.
My eyes widen in shock and when I was ready to go into their fight to stop whatever Gally is planning Minho stopped me. I turn my head angry. "Let me go, Minho!"
"Not bad for a Greenie, huh?" The Greenie was knocked over his back with Gally's shift oh his leg onto his. And again Greenie landed on the sand making his head connect it with it. Everyone winced at it and I was shocked.
Then Greenie shuffled to his feet. "Thomas!" Everyone looks at him with confused faces. "I remember my name. I'm Thomas!"
As the Greenie his name, my eyes got misty and I lost balance so Minho catched me. "Whoa, you're okay there, JJ?" I didnt responded because I start to have rapid breathing. After second I didn't even notice was sitting and all Gladers looking at me. They must be worried about me.
Newt kneeled in front of me with worried face. "Are you okay love?"
I could feel my breathing already slow down and I nodded my head. "Yeah, just got a little bit dizzy that's all." I stood up and Minho and Newt was beside me reat to catch me if I fall.
"Are you sure you're okay, love?" Newt asked me again.
"Yeah, I'm going to my apartment." I said and before I leave my head turn to Greenie. "Welcome home, Thomas." I smiled.
Everyone cheered for him, some were laughing. "Thomas! Thomas! Thomas!"
A loud shriek from the maze had caused all noise to die down. Gladers turning towards the noise. I could feel my body twitched in my spot at hearing this sound.
