(I promise I'll make this short, just please read it.)

Hey readers!

Welcome to my new book!

I'm excited about this one, because writing teen/young adult fiction is my favorite and I feel within my comfort zone. But that doesn't mean this story will be boring, aha, there will be plenty of twists and turns for you along the way.

Just a heads up, it will mainly be in Jacob's point of view and only occasionally in Riley's for the purpose of the book.

So without further adue, I present the first chapter of.....

'The Bad Girl' By Sian2468 (me)

Chapter 1 ~ Knock Knock

Jacob P.O.V

I'd like to lie to prove my point and say that she isn't beautiful, but I always thought myself an honest guy.

And it's not the kind of beautiful you can pin-point down to just one thing about her, it's like a collection of things you don't understand but you are drawn to anyway. The worst part is, she knows she is gorgeous, and she uses it to draw guys in with no intention of ever going further than flirtatious touching.

I, however, haven't let myself as to even get that far. From the moment I met her in high school I knew she was trouble. She was the girl your mother would frown and shake her head at when you brought her home for family dinner. I didn't want to be one of those guys who dedicated each day to following after her and trying every pickup line in the 'Pathetic Guys Handbook' just to get her to notice me. I wouldn't fall for her tricks, or her beauty, or anything in between. I had better things to do with my time than infatuate myself over some......some.... 'bad girl'.

"Earth to Jacob!"

I jump in my plastic chair and blink a few times to awake from my daydream. I look over at Chase who is sitting opposite me with an amused but irritated smile.

"What?" I frown and lift my bottle of water to my lips.

"Dude, if you stared any harder at her your eyes would fall out of your head."

I screw the lid back on the bottle and swallow the cold, flavorless liquid.

"I wasn't staring at her specifically, she just happened to stand in my line of sight while I was in deep thought." I say honestly.

"Whatever you say." Chase holds up his hands in surrender before using them to shove more food in his mouth.

"The amount you eat is unhealthy. You should go on a diet or something." I settle back comfortably in the uncomfortable cafeteria chair.

Chase sits up and lifts his shirt to reveal a defined six-pack.

"I think I'm good." He shrugs and continues to eat like all food on earth will be gone tomorrow.

"Oi." Chase kicks my shin under the table.

I glare up at him and open my mouth to complain, but he is looking over my shoulder. I follow his gaze to the scene behind us.

"That poor doochbag." I roll my eyes at the girl dumping a chocolate colored beverage over a short guys head, drenching his clothes and soaking his hair so it drapes over his forehead.

"That's the second one today. She keeps this up she'll have a new record by lunch time." Chase glances down at his wrist, pretending there is a watch there and smiling.
