A/N pov,

It was day 29 when Ricardo didn't come back from his business deal. Sarah enjoyed that much time alone; she got a bed to sleep in and no harsh words. She went to the office every day and finished the work that Garner gave her. although it was hard for her to understand technicalities in work. For her, Garrett was the calmest person, but as the days went by, she felt like she was bothering him too much. Sarah was grateful for his patience and kindness towards her. As the days passed, she started to feel more comfortable around him and even enjoyed his company.

The only interaction she had with Ricardo was work related-a new day, a new task. At this moment, she felt like she could never survive corporate slavery.

She banged the table too hard, which shook off the table, and the glass spilled water on the paperwork. She threw herself back, frustrated. A tear escaped from her eyes. For a moment, she stayed still, trying to calm herself. She took a deep breath and sighed. Her mind got distracted when she saw a group of birds taking flight. She wished she could be as free as those birds, unburdened by the pressures of work. As she watched them disappear into the distance, she got up from the chair and stood close to the glass window. She placed her hands on the glass window and leaned towards it, resting her forehead. She felt the coldness, which relaxed her a bit.

It was around 7 p.m., and it was already dark outside. The street was still busy. She saw a bunch of teenage girls roaming and having the time of their lives, some taking pictures, others laughing and chatting. She saw a couple hugging, cupping, and admiring each other. Sarah smiled, watching people be happy and live their lives to the fullest.

At the thought of getting out, making new friends, and having a different life, she felt FOMO; she was missing out on everything, and now she was trapped in an abusive, loveless marriage. Sarah's heart sank as she thought about her own life. She couldn't help but feel like she was missing out on everything. Trapped in an abusive and loveless marriage, she longed for the freedom to make new friends and experience a different kind of life. Watching the happy couples and carefree teenagers on the street only made her feel more isolated and alone.

She wanted to run away, but she couldn't without taking what was rightfully hers. Ricardo left, but he still wore that ring. She could've taken the ring and flew away. She could've fled before agreeing to such a marriage, the moment she realised Ricardo didn't want it either.

As she was drowning in her thoughts, the door opened, which made her flinch a bit. It was garner, but he was looking more unusual than before. His hair was perfectly combed, unlike before, when he always had messy hair. He was wearing a pearl necklace and a satin royal blue shirt, and the first two buttons were undone. He was looking so majestic. Sarah had a surprising face.

"Oh my goodness! Look at you," she said. Garner smiled, "pleased with your reaction."

"Really, you look so beautiful!" She complimented him. "really??"

"yeah ofcourse!! Why would I lie, though? So... you're going on a date?" Garner nodded,

"Yes, I am. I wanted to make a good impression." Sarah grinned and said, "Well, you definitely achieved that. Who's the lucky person?" Garner hesitated at first, saying, "Well, I met him in the bar."

"Oh, that's cool, but be careful! There might be Jeffery Dahmer around." Garner chuckled nervously.

"I hope not. He seemed like a nice guy." Sarah nodded. "

"Well, just be safe. You never know these days," she said in a concerned voice.

"Oh, I never have to worry about it," he said excitedly, reaching down and pulling a gun. Sarah's eyes widened.

"What are you doing with that?" she asked, her voice trembling. Gareth grinned, "I always carry it with me. You never know when you might need it."

Sarah was too stunned to speak. What did she expect from a guy who works under a mafia boss?

"Oh, well, have a nice day," he smiled. and they left the office.

when she was on the way. She saw a candy shop. She was already on her period and craved something sweet. She always liked dark chocolate, so she picked up a few bars and went to the payment counter. She pulled out her payment card as the cashier swiped it into the machine. The card declined. Sarah's heart sank as she realised she had forgotten to transfer money into her account. She rummaged through her purse, hoping to find some cash, but all she found were a few coins. The cashier looked at her impatiently, and Sarah felt embarrassed. She knew she couldn't afford the chocolates, but the craving was too strong to resist.

But then she remembered the master card that Ricardo gave her, which she had stashed away in her wallet. She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should use it without his permission. But the temptation was too great, and she decided to take the risk. She handed the card to the cashier, who swiped it through the machine. To her relief, it was accepted, and Sarah breathed a sigh of relief. As she walked out of the store with her chocolates in hand, she couldn't help but feel guilty for using Ricardo's card. But at least she had satisfied her craving, and now all she had to do was figure out how to repay him without him finding out.

ricardo's pov,

It's been 29 days since I left my home and Sarah. What happened the day Natasha caught me and Sarah in the same bed? I cannot recall how we ended up like that. I hate her, but why did I feel so comfortable when I slept holding her? I felt something very unusual. I don't know what happened that night when I lost control of myself, but I still remember her wet hair and her scent. I couldn't take it out of my mind.

But why am I feeling that way? How can Gramps even imagine me spending my whole life with the daughter of my father's murderer? I still remember the glance from that accident. The day my father died,I could see his teary eyes flaming when he set my house on fire. It was a blurry nightmare.

At first, even I couldn't believe that a Danish could do that; he always acted as a loyal servant, and my father trusted him. Natasha saw him kill my father. She was the only witness to the crime. And yet, here I am, inexplicably drawn to her.

Natasha and I are not on good terms; she kept avoiding me. I should've been thankful that even after cheating on her uncountable times, she forgave me. She kept telling me to stop chasing her and be a faithful husband.

Now I'm here in a room, smoking, and regretting everything I did. As I was drowning in my thoughts, I received a message on my phone. Twenty dollars were deducted from the bank account. She really spent this on chocolates? I really never thought she was this stupid. She hadn't used my card for a long time, and now that she had, was it for a mere piece of cheap chocolate? Does she think I don't have enough money or what? It's a Mastar card with no limit; she could've bought anything she wanted. This woman is really something else.
