Rushing out from the house, I almost tripped going down the stairs. Thankfully I caught myself and rushed off the balcony, again, almost tripping. Getting my balance back, I darted off towards the building Odessa was in. Tonight was the night of The Reckoning. I was unable to attend since I was busy with work and when I was finished, the fight was almost ending. I was too exhausted to see how it turned out. I wish I did. I know Odessa was fine with me not going since she knows I'm not into that sort of fighting. If things go south, I'll never live with myself and the fact that I didn't see her.

There was a crowd of people outside the doctor's building. I sighed slightly, trying to push my way through them, but they kept elbowing me back to where it was pointless. Growling, I found Meri in the middle of everyone. I forced my way through and grabbed onto her mech's arm.

"There ya are, Y/N," she said.

"Mind if I get on top of your mech real quick?"

"Go ahead."

I climbed up and looked through the sea of people, trying to find the door that led to the doctor's building. Letting out a sigh, I placed my thumb and index finger in my mouth, whistling loudly enough for people to turn and face me.

"Oi! All of ya get the hell out of 'ere!"

"We're waiting to see what happened to our Queen!" someone yelled.

"I know ya are, but I need to get in there!"

"Why?" another person asked.

"Clearly ya have no idea who I am."

The crowd was silent as I let out another growl, my hands forming into fists.

"Just clear the bloody hell outta 'ere! If the Queen hears about what happened, she won't be too happy."

"That is if she pulls through."

"W-What?" I asked.

"The Queen is in bad shape."

"I-I know she's in bad shape, that's why I'm 'ere. Get me into the doctor's building!"

The door opened up and the doctor came out, her coat falling off her shoulders and there was blood all over her. My eyes widened at the amount of blood that was on her hands and coat.

"What in bloody hell is goin' on out 'ere?!" she yelled.

"Please, I need to get in there," I said.

As soon as the doctor took one look at me, she parted the sea of people.

"Let 'er come through."

"Why 'er?"

"She's the Queen's wife. I don't think you want to be on the receiving end of her fury when she finds out you didn't let 'er in. Especially when she needs 'er most."

"Doctor!" a couple nurses yelled.

Coming to the door was a bloody and brusied Odessa. There was blood just dripping from her face as she slowly walked towards the door, leaning against the frame.

"Your majesty!" the doctor called, trying to stop her from walking out.

"W-Where is she?" Odessa grumbled.

Seeing her like this, so bloody and with cuts all over her body, it hurt. Tears formed in my eyes as I climbed down from Meri's mech and rushed towards Odessa. As soon as her gaze came across my form, she pushed aside the doctor, a little too roughly, and walked towards me.

"Dez, s-stay there!" I yelled.

"Y/N," she breathed out.

She was about to collapse and when she did, I rushed forward and caught her. The people around me helped bring her back into the doctor's building and set her on the table. They left while leaving me to stand by Odessa's side. Blood was literally everywhere. It stained the floor, Odessa's clothing, and it even got into her hair. Her mouth looked nothing like a mouth. It was instead replaced by a crimson pool as the nurses had to roll her onto her side, allowing the blood to slip from her mouth so she didn't possibly choke on it.

"W-What happened?" I asked.

"The Reckoning," the doctor said. "Play back what happened."

A nurse turned on one of the holographic screens and replayed the entire Reckoning. I walked over to it, allowing them to have space to work on saving Odessa. She took out the first two challengers just fine, but the third one was giving her issues. He had two blades in each hand and they were long. Not to mention there were two knives attached to his head. Odessa tried to fight her way through it, but it ended up badly for her. He rammed his head into her face, the knives being stabbed into her cheeks before he viciously ripped his head to the side, cutting across her mouth and nose. He almost got her eye, but thankfully she pulled back to avoid it.

Kicking her in the knee, she fell onto the ground and that was when he just started whailing on her. Cutting across her arms and abdomen. She kicked him off and was about to get up, but she stumbled while trying to get up, her back facing him. Raising his blades he brought them down and down into her back it went, protruding from her stomach. I winced as I watched him take off the knives from his head and slashed at her back.

What appeared like he won, as soon as he went to take the crown off of her head, she grabbed his wrist and threw him across the arena. Standing up, even with the blades in her body, she raised Carnage up with the remaining amount of strength she had. Dragging it across the ground, small sparks were being sent flying as she raised it up. The guy scrambled into a corner and she brought the axe down, slicing him in half from the head down to his stomach. As soon as she collapsed, everyone rushed the arena and brought her here.

"I-Is she goin' to make it?" I asked.

"We're hopin', Y/N," the doctor said. "She was injuried pretty badly."

Turning around, I was met with Odessa's bloody face and bloody body. Her eyes were closed and her mouth hung open to let the blood out. They had stitched up what they could on her face and now they were just working on her back. There were stitches on her stomach from where the blades came out.

"P-Please do your best, doctor. S-Save 'er not only for me, but for Junkertown."

"We will do our best."

I walked out of the room and sat down in the waiting area. It was ten at night and the clock slowly ticked to eleven to twelve. I couldn't even sleep with how my heart was beating fast and the pit inside my stomach was growing larger and larger. Due to pure exhaustion, I closed my eyes and slumped over in the chair.

Someone shook me awake and I blinked my eyes open. Reading the clock, it was four in the morning and I was moved from sitting upright to laying across multiple chairs. Once the bluriness faded away and I found a nurse in front of me, I couldn't help but think something went wrong. I sprang up and met her eyes.

"O-Odessa," I said.

She nodded her head, a small smile forming, "She's goin' to be alright."

"Oh!" I let out a gasp as I covered my eyes, tears sliding down my face.

Opening my arms, I hugged the nurse tightly, "Thank you! Thank you!"

"Of course."

She helped me stand up and I walked into the room to find Odessa was still asleep. Smiling, I leaned down and placed a kiss to her forehead.

"She should be waking up in about an hour or so," the doctor said as she made sure the blood bag was secure. "She lost so much blood that it would have been the main reason she wouldn't be 'ere."

"Thank you, doctor," I said and hugged her.

"You're welcome, Y/N. Stay as long as you need to."

I nodded and they walked out. I pulled over a chair and sat down, reaching over and holding her slightly cold hand. While they did their best to wash off the blood, there was still dry blood on her hands. When her eyes finally fluttered opened, she turned her head to find me sitting right beside her.

"Y-Y/N?" she croaked out.

"I'm 'ere, Dez," I stood up and leaned over to kiss her cheek. "I'm 'ere."

"I-I'm sorry if I worried ya."

"Worried me is an understatement. Ya scared me half to death," I said and lightly tapped her shoulder with the back of my hand, earning a chuckle that turned into a groan.

"I'm just so glad you're alive," I said and pecked her cheek.

"I'd never leave my princess by 'erself."

"Ya almost did."

"But I didn't."

"What am I going to do with you, Odessa?" I chuckled, shaking my head.

"Love me?" she asked, a soft look in her eyes.

"I'm always goin' to love ya," I said and carefully hugged her.

"I love you, too, Y/N."
