Epilogue to Chapter 24

All of us were carrying in the many bags and boxes from Scott's car. We were beyond surprised by what they gave us and gifted us with. They bought our things we really needed and then went wild at the kids section, getting toys for the boys and some toddler fun stuff for Becca.

"We couldn't help it! We had to get these for the kids while you wait for the movers." Hope explained and apologized for all the things they bought at Target and also at the toy store. I also noticed some things for the kitchen.

"You didn't have to do all this!" I exclaimed noticing a few kitchen items like silverware and bakeware.

"Scott thought you may need some of this before you get your things from the movers." Hope said.

"Thank you! I think we will need some of this for tonight since we don't have anything planned for dinner." I said.

"We did get you dishwashing soap and also soap for the dishwasher as well." She said.

"Again thanks!" I said as I saw a big soap dispenser sitting next to the kitchen sink.

"Here are your towels. We thought you would like different colors. Scott found this collection of hand towels in the bath section." Hope replied as she showed me the bundle of towels ranging from blue, white to gray.

"You're very generous in getting these for us. I thought we were going to air dry our hands until the movers arrive!" I said, laughing.

"We have Scott to thank for thinking of those. He was very helpful when we went through the towels and bedroom items." Hope said.

"Again thank you!" I said while I fingered the towels. They're a decent thickness. "I'll be doing a load of laundry soon. I have to do that before they use them. Everyone has sensitive skin and cannot use it until washed.

"I know what you mean. if you need more for a load please let me know." Hope said. "We packed for a few days and already have some that can be added." She added.

"Great, I need to check upstairs before doing our first load of laundry." I said. Soon I went upstairs and grabbed two small blankets to toss in and added the towels. I almost forgot on how to operate the washing machine but once I found the knobs and other fancy buttons on it I started the first load of laundry. It works! Our washer is a front loading washing machine and so is the dryer.

"Looks like you're doing our first load of laundry today!" James said, seeing blankets and towels rotating in the washing machine. "Let me know if you run into problems."

"I will. It's just our first time to officially use the machine." I eagerly said. "What's everyone else is doing now?"

"Oh, I think they're doing their own thing right now. Is there anything you need?" James answered.

"No, it's just weird to be at our house now and without our things. I'm just glad I found something to do."

"We can give a tour of our guest house to our visitors. It would be a good way to wait on your laundry." James suggested.

"That's a good idea." I said while looking up at my husband. He needs to change into clothing. "Uh maybe you should go upstairs and change your clothes." I gently said.

"Uh, why is that?" He asked, sounding a bit clueless.

"You're still wearing your pajama bottoms." I reminded him. Soon he looked down and saw his loose pajama bottoms.

"Oh! Silly me! What am I thinking? I do need to change into actual clothes." He laughed. "I'm guessing our kids need to be changed too!" He said.

"Yes! Please help me find them and we'll go upstairs to help you and the kids get dressed!" I said, laughing.
