The next few days went with a breeze and it was time for you guys to set sail.
You loaded things on your ship and said you farewells to your villagers and then you visited the mayor. He was short, old, and yelled at you a lot for all your trouble.
You stepped in his cabin and he started yelling, "NALANI HARA I EXPECTED BETTER, YOU ARE TURNING OUT LIKE YOUR MOTHER."
The crew walked in after you and the old man slammed the piece of paper on his desk.
He still hasn't acknowledged the others and doesn't even look up as he starts ranting on about how I should stay safe on their crew and stuff before he scolds you for the piece of paper.
"500 MILLION? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?" You rolled your eyes as Nami started laughing. "But come on Pops I barely did anything.." you looked at your nails and expected a 'shut up' look.
The others watched you and Luffy looked at the paper.
"Can we talk about that later? I want you to meet my cre-"
You crossed your arms before getting interrupted, "500 MILLION?" Usopp says before running over.
You face palm before everyone's looking over from the paper to you.
"Yeah yeah now this is the mayor, geezer we'll get going now.." you run over and give him a hug and run out.
"IF I HERE YOU GET IN TROUBLE WITH LINLIN ONE MORE TIME, YOU ARE DONE."
He shouts as the crew runs after you.
You run and stand by the edge of The Sunny and look at your village.
Everyone settled as Luffy calls to set sail.
Zoro pulled up the anchor as Luffy shouted, "SET TO THE NEXT ISLAND WE GO!"
You all cheered as you saw the old geezer from his cabin crying.
You gave a salute to him before laughing, "I'll come to visit!"
You nodded as you guys went further into the water and the village disappeared from sight.
You giggled and sat down on the deck with your back pressed against the pole that held the sail in the middle of The Sunny.
Luffy sat of the top of the Sunny's head which looked so cute.
Nami sat next to you and you guys were talking in a group.
Zoro went to the top, which is apparently called the crows nest, and Sanji was making smoothies.
Robin sat on a bench near the sail beam that you and Nami were leaning against. Brook laughed as he stood and played his violin.
"Mm that's a nice melody Brook..." you hummed as he fluttered and looked away.
Sanji came in with your drinks, it was pink lemonade with a lemon slice and mint leaf on the edge of the cup with some fancy sprinkles around the rim.
"This is really good Sanji!"you say as Eobin agrees.
"Mhm it is indeed.."
Nami nods as Chopper goes to call Zoro down.
You girls just talk about regular stuff until the birds come by and drop the news papers.
You catch it and sit back down and unroll the papers.
Luffy was on the front page, with Sabo, second of the Revolutionary Army, and Dragon the head commander.
"Luffy's his son?" You question as the others nod.
Luffy sits in front of you and tilts his head in confusion, "Who, Dragon?"
"Yes you dummy.." Nami rolls her eyes and says while you just giggle.
A few pages down it starts talking about the Marines getting in a fuss with the Warlords. You read and listened to Nami talk.
"Yeah and then Luffy got in trouble with a whole Yonko but I don't kn-"
"This time I barely did anything .." you whispered to yourself and slammed the paper on the ground.
Robin raised a brow as Nami questioned you.
"I also travel on my own and this is my first time on a crew." You start and scratch your head as you say , "And I might've got in trouble with Big Mom.. but I just want her to hurt you guys." You say while Usopp and Nami drop their jaws.
Nami face palms as she says, "Luffy did the same thing and after our next island I'm pretty sure she's after us."
You laugh as Luffy just stared at you while you talk.
"Is something wrong Luffy?"
He shakes his head and gives a beautiful smile.
You get butterflies and then Robin asks you, "Nalani, what do you know about O'Hara?"
The question took you by surprise but you nodded, "O'Hara was my father's home land but he set out to sail when he was around my age.." you tap your pointer finger on your chin and say, "and he knew how to read Poneglyphs
So I was taught as a young child until they died in battle." You said with no emotion and Luffy was about to say something, but then he stopped.
You tilted your head in confusion but then continued, "The old man at our village took care of my mother when she was young and he saw them die in front of him, at this time I was in the village only about 5 years old... and once the geezer returned he brought me my mothers bracelet."
You looked down at your right hand and looked at the silver bangle with some charms on it.
Nami touched each charm and there were 3.
"The crescent moon with a 12 and dot next to it indicates I was born on midnight, or very early of the next day." Robin glances at the square like shaped one.
"That one is a poneglyph from my father and the symbol written on it means 'angel of the time of wind' because of my power."
You swish your fingers and the breeze picks up the newspaper and places it neatly by the Tangerine Tree's.
"I assume those are yours." You smile and point at Nani's tattoo and back at the trees.
She nods as you here her story.
She must've gone through a lot...
Luffy looks at the last charm, it was a start.
"I thought you went to fool around with Usopp and Chopper?" You cross your arms and laugh.
"But I wanna stay here with you." Luffy says calmly as Nami snickers and gives a thumbs up.
You hum in response and say, "the star has a couple of words inside.."
Nami takes your wrist and peeks in.
She reads out loud, "the miracle was born when a shooting star passed"
You nodded, "enough of that, it's getting embarrassing why don't we go see if Sanji finished making lunch."
You get up and help Nami.
Robin smiles at you before Sanji comes in, "Everyone dinner is served!" You all start to walk until you hit something feel a sharp pain in your leg and collapse.
"Ouch!" You lean against the beam as Luffy, Sanji and Nami rush over as the other also watch from behind them.
Nami looks at the deep cut that was in the side of your heel.
"Shit.. I'm so so so sorry Sanji for breaking the glass, I totally didn't see i-"
"Sh shhh it's fine I'll clean it up.. here luffy stay with her while I follow Nami-swan upstairs for Chopper.
Luffy's looks worried and looks at the side on your foot.
"Does it hurt?" You nod as he holds your legs in his lap.
"I'm so sorry Luffy I'll promise I'll clean up the lemonade I spilled I'm reall-"
"Why don't you be quiet and stop making a fuss, does it still hurt?" He places his hat on your head and gets up, "Wait I'll be right back.."
He runs in the kitchen as you profusely blush and hold the straw hat.
He comes back with a cloth.
He sets your feet in his lap and dabs the cloth on your injury as the blood starts to sock up.
You can still see the deep wound but it hurt a lot less since it stopped bleeding.
You smiled and watched the childish boy take away your pain.
Not only pain from now, pain from your past, pain from your history.
You watch him and admire him taking such care of you and then he looks at your and smiles.
"It looks really good on you Nal."
He calls chopper over as you start turning red.
Nal? Did he just call me by my nick name? It's so cute! I think I'm gonna die!
Chopper runs over and checks your temperature and says, "Are you okay Nalani? It looks like your burning up.." Chopper then looks at your foot that laid resting in Luffy's lap.
"That a deep wound, so I hope your don't mind stitches?"
You shake your head, "that's fine.." you roll your eyes at Nami and Robin snickering watching you and Luffy.
You send a glare at them as Chopper sticks the needle in and makes one loop. You shriek and close your eyes before your grab something really tight.
You look back up and you were squeezing Luffy's hand.
You stutter and let go before he laughs and intertwines his hand in yours.
"It's okay, you can do this, I bet you it barely hurts!" He gives a childish chuckle that helps your calm down more.
Chopper finished stitching and leaves a cold pack and wraps it around your leg.
"You should be fine now Nalani!" Chopper runs and puts his bags away and says, "Luffy pull her up, let's go eat lunch!" He skips off as Nami speaks up.
"Luffy I don't think she can walk so I think you have to carry her over, come on!" She gives an evil smirk before everyone walking in the kitchen and sat down.
Luffy gave a chuckle and picked you up in bridal stile and walked over to the kitchen.
You hid your face in your hands as he sat your down next to him. Sanji went to go call the swordsman and Brook from upstairs as everyone sat.
