"So what do you think?" Paige asks, looking at her front door, decorated with balloons and a small 'happy birthday banner.Maggie, her neighbor, peeps her head around her door, "Paige it looks amazing-" She goes back behind the door, grabs something, and walks out to fully see it. "She's gonna love it."
Paige softly laughs, "She's only turning 2, she probably won't even remember it."
Maggie puts an arm around Paige, "But you will. Are you inviting your friends from the hospital?"
"No-" Paige sighs, "I haven't told them about Ariel."
"Well, this could be the perfect icebreaker for it." Maggie points to all the pink and purple decorations.
The silence is broken by Paige's pager vibrating, and she quickly looks at Maggie.
"Go, I've got this." Maggie waves Paige off, watching her run off.

After dealing with a few elderly patients, she spotted the group in the cafeteria. So she grabbed a tray of food and walked up to them.
"Paige, I thought you took today off?" Alex asks as he sits down next to her.
"I did but they got personal day mixed up with on call." She chuckles, before looking at Izzie talking.
"Paige we were just talking about that woman with-"
"Spontaneous orgasms." George gives a sheepish look to Izzie, ignoring her eye roll.
"I think you're making it up." Alex shakes his head.
"He's not. I saw it four times." Izzie nods her head.
"5." Paige quickly added.
Izzie points to Paige, "5 times."
"What?"
George plops some carrots into his mouth, "Woman with spontaneous orgasms."
Cristina nods softly, recalling that event, "Oh yeah, uh huh."
"Really?" Meredith asks, not believing a single word.
George looks at Alex, "You're just jealous because you didn't see it yourself."
"Totally am." Alex says sarcastically.
"So, I'm having a party tonight," Paige announces to the group, all looking at her.
"Cool, it's been a long time since I have been to a party party," Alex adds.
Izzie scoffs, "I highly doubt that."
Paige clears her throat, making everyone look at her again, "It's not a party party, it's a birthday party."
Meredith raises her eyebrows, "It's your birthday? Why didn't you tell us?"
Paige wrings her hands, "It's not mine," She takes a deep breath, "It's my daughter's."
Everyone stares at her in shock, making Paige shake her head,
"You what... it's fine. She's only turning 2 and I'm pretty sure you would prefer a party party to a two-year-old's birthday party-"
"We'll be there," Cristina says, looking at her with a small smile. Once everyone processed everything, they all happily agreed to go.
A few hours later, in the evening, the group packed their things and took their separate cars to Paige's apartment.
"Why are there so many stairs?" George wines, dragging the words as they made it to the final step.
Meredith knocks on the front door, "At least I know now why Paige's legs always look so good."
As she opens the door, she gives a quick hug to everyone, ushering everyone in. She makes sure everyone has a drink before sitting in the kitchen.
"Where is the birthday girl?" Meredith asks, snacking on pink-colored popcorn. Ariel requested everything to be pink, so Paige may have taken it literally.
"Ariel is just getting changed by Maggie, my neighbor." Paige adds, "She wanted to dress up like Princess Cinderella."
As the evening went on, everyone had taken a huge liking to Ariel and frankly, they all spoiled her with gifts. Meredith had gotten her 3 different sets of Barbies, which Cristina helped with, George got her a bicycle too big, Izzie got her an ice cream cart set and Alex had gotten a suggestive gift which was thrown out the window by Izzie.
Paige smiled to herself as she walks back to the kitchen, starting to put some of the dishes into the sink to be cleaned later but as she leans against the sink, watching her friends making Ariel's birthday a birthday to remember.
Cristina slowly walks next to Paige, "Looks like it's turning out great," Paige glances at her, "I just wanted to say-"
"It's okay."
Cristina's eyebrows pinched together, "No, it isn't and it wasn't. I'm sorry, I'm sorry what I said and I'm sorry that I never really got you the 'real' you."
Paige shrugs, "My last name has always put a stereotype of what I would be like, how I got to where I am. You may have judged me but you are the first person to apologize for it."
Cristina smiles at her before looking at everyone else, "She's cute."
"That she is."
