The Party has now come face to face with Lark2n, the one who has been pulling the strings behind Department X's current involvement with The Adamite Key

The Century Corps are now sitting at a table talking to Lark2n

Lark2n: So brother and Iehn, you must be confused as to how I'm still alive

Larkin: I could honestly care less, what I know is how the fuck did you pull a cou'detat on Department X?

Lark2n: It's simple brother, I ousted the previous leader because I simply had power on my side and he couldn't take my abilities

Iehn: So, looks like you just took what you wanted

Lark2n: What I want is The Adamite Key

Larkin: BUT WHY, we already cannot age or die

Lark2n: Because, I'm going to make a world where I am finally treated how I'm meant to be. A god. A savoir. A king. I will not be ridiculed any longer when I will have the key that grants mortals eternal life.

Larkin: Such a thing is a burden, not a gift

Centus: As the centuries roll on, they will regret their immortality and have no way to die without the Destruction of The Key

Lark2n: The key can take away immortality away, afterall, it's a key, it can out the powers it granted you back all those years ago

Iehn: You want to have a complete monopoly on people's lifespans

Lark2n: What's so bad about me having sole ownership of The Adamite Key when everyone wants to be immortal anyway. Why take away their chance at eternity?

Hadane: Part of the Journey is the end, I'm envious of those who get to have a proper ending as I was born without life

Lark2n: Death is just another door, why keep it closed when I can unlock it, and people could have the choice to live forever?

Spade: You are opening Pandora's Box, once The Key is out in the open, you can never get rid of it then, The Adamite Key would fundamentally destroy society's core as people would have the option not to die

Lark2n: What's so bad about destroying society in the process if people are granted ultimate freedom?

Nest: Part of nature is the changing of the Seasons, you can't forever be Summer or forever be Winter, if we have the option of permanence, we will be in a stagnant world

Larkin: If we let you create a world that is stagnant and devoid of meaning, then all those deaths so long ago will have been for nothing. It will have been no different from letting The White World consume the planet!

Lark2n: You're as stubborn as ever, isn't that a bit of hypocrisy.

Larkin: Who cares about being a contradiction when it's defending something I love.

Lark2n: Well I'm about to grant a wish to the whole entire world, so I can't allow you to leave this place alive

Lark2n presses a button, and sirens begin blaring

Darsah: What have you done?

Lark2n: Sorry but I'm also stubborn, and unweilding, I will realize the dreams of mankind, even if I have to make this place your prison

The Base begins to destroy itself

Lark2n: I will now seize the Final Portal Battery for myself

Lark2n merges back onto the walls and escapes

Darsah: Damn it, we gotta chase him down

Larkin: You don't have to tell me that we gotta catch him

Begin Crumbling Base

When you're 20% of the way through

Nest: How do we even know where Lark2n will go?

Hadane: Send one of your bird friends to follow him

Nest: I can't track him via Bird to Person communication

Hadane: I can place a Mark of Flames on the bird that I can use to track him

Nest: That's not a bad idea

Darsah: The building is collapsing talk about this later

Resume

When you're 40% of the way through

Iehn: You'd think Department X wouldn't be onboard with sharing their immortality with the entire world

Centus: People will abandon their own morals and human decency to chase any semblance of power

Iehn: I see, we really are a despicable species

Centus: It's why you've got to stand above the bottom and be that guiding light. It's why I envy Thomas and Femmeo, for going above and beyond for all Centennial kind

Darsah: Yeah ok, the building is still collapsing tho

Resume

When you're 60% of the way

Larkin: I wonder what it must be like to die, I will never know, since I cannot myself

Darsah: You'll find out if we don't leave faster

Larkin: Alright then one leg why don't you run on ahead and leave the rest of us here

Darsah: ...

Resume

When you're 80% of the way, a large amount of aether begins to fly into the sky

Nest: Is it going to follow Lark2n?

Darsah: No Clue and frankly, but it appears to be likely

Nest: Does he have special gizmos or spells only Department X would have?

Larkin: I only met him once before this, so I have no clue

Nest: Time to just follow the wind I guess

Resume

When you escape the crumbling building, the party sees a Bi-Plane flying overhead

Larkin: Looks like that's him

Nest: Hey Hadane, let's do the thing

Nest calls down a mystic eagle from the sky

Hadane: Alright, since you insist on it

The bird lands on Nest's arm and Hadane begins casting the mark of flames, which hovers over the bird

Hadane: Fly free winged one

Nest: ??

Hadane: What

Nest: Why did you say it like that?

Hadane: I have no clue

The bird than takes off into the sky, trailing Lark2n's plane

Iehn: Welp, we should head back to base

Centus: Good call

Hadane: Looks like Lark2n is heading south

Darsah: Looks like we gotta move fast

And thus, the Century Corps headed back to base to prepare to intercept Lark2n
