Chapter 7: Inching Towards Affection?

Marin: Wasn't lunch like 2 hours ago? *Marin say abit confused*

Emily: Oh, I meant sometime this weekend, would you like to hang out tonight? *She smiles at you and plays with her hair.*

Marin: Instead of tonight, why not after classes at 5 pm how's that sound?

Emily: That actually sounds great, I'll see you at 5pm tonight.

She waves at you and leaves the classroom. Marin notices that Emily seems to like her for some reason.

Marin being innocent only thinks she sees her as a friend, as the day goes by and it's now 5 PM

It's 5pm and Marin waits outside her classroom for Emily. She is 10 minutes late and runs up to Marin.

Emily: I'm so sorry about that, I was meeting up with a friend and lost track of time.

Marin notices that she's breathless and blushing.

Marin: It's okay I wasn't waiting that long so where do you wanna go

Emily: Well, there's this cute cafe not too far from here, we could go there.

She smiles at you and holds your arm, leading you to the nearby cafe. Emily leads you into a small cafe, it seems like the kind of place you'd find in a small town. She goes over to the cashier.

Emily: Can we have a table for two please?

Cashier: Of course, just a moment.

The cashier goes around and moves a couple chairs together for you both to sit at. She comes back in a moment and sets the menu on the table for you and goes away to give you both some privacy.

Marin: Do you have any recommendations since you have been here before?

Emily: Well, I always get the hot chocolate and the cheesecake. It's amazing, you should try it.

Marin: Okay but instead I'll probably try the strawberry cake I really like strawberries there delicious

*Emily's eyes light up when she hears strawberry cake.*

Emily: Ooh alright, the strawberry cake is so good! You're gonna love it.

The cashier comes back and sets the cheesecake and cake on the table. Emily pays for the cake and cheesecake.

Marin: Mhm it's so delicious *she says as she eats the strawberry cake*

Emily: I told you, it's really good right?

She starts eating the cheesecake, she smiles at her between bites. As we continue eating and chatting in between a siren is heard.

Emily: Huh, that's a bit weird, a siren?

Marin notices Emily looks a bit alarmed by the sudden siren. She notices a police car race by the window of the cafe.

Emily: Is that a police car...or...

Marin: Probably a call to duty like a stolen painting or maybe a murder but it's most probably something was stolen since there is an art museum nearby *Marin says using her deductive reasoning and her perceptiveness to make an educated guess*

Emily: Yeah, most likely that. That art museum is really close to here, it does make sense. Oh yeah, how good are you at deduction Marin? *Emily smiled at you, you got her interest with your deductive reasoning skills.*

Marin: *Marin giggles abit flustered from the sudden compliment* well I do have some detective skills and I did join the secondary course for detectives.

Emily laughed and takes a few more bites of the cheesecake, as she does this, she notices a news report on the nearby television.

TV reporter: Well, we have some sad news for you today. Earlier today, there was a robbery at the Ravenrock Museum.
