First date

Joel POV

I hear ringing to my right and I see its my alarm clock,I turn it off and look straight up at my ceiling,I can feel a smile creep at my lips.Today is my first date after me and Moriah broke it off and to be honest I feel great.I get up from the bed doing a little jazz dance and head off to shower.I decided to try some new shampoo and body wash I got from the farmers market.The smell of Rosemary and mint shampoo and milk and money bubbles body wash.I always loved the way the Farmers market would make their products,its great for skin and it doesnt get me any allergic reactions like regular shampoo and body wash does.

I decided to wear a black long sleeve shirt since the weather was starting to get cooler and blue jeans,I decided to brush my hair out when I realized its really grown since the last tie I had it cut a few weeks ago,oh well I like it like that.I decided to put on a couple of jewelry such as a couple of bracelets and a ring and my favorite sunglasses to complete the look.

I get out of the car and started walking towards the cafe,one of the reasons why I wanted to go here was cause I saw it had some good looking breakfast sandwiches and it was a new place.They recently replaced the building it used to be a tax office but this new coffee place took about a year and a half to finish and I can see why;its so breathtaking its looks vintage with the old brick wall and beige cream colored walls.

I take a seat in one of the booths and wait for Marissa but since im like 20 minutes early😂 I decided to just order some ice water and I patiently wait.

Marissa POV

I am so excited today is the day im going out on my first date in a long time.I jump up from the bed and head to the bathroom and I look in the mirror and im mortified at what looks back at me,my mascara rubbed around my eyes making me look like a raccoon,my braid looks all messy like a rats nest and my work shirt looks a wrinkled with coffee stains and dinner from last night splattered on me.I basically look like garbage I quickly turn the water on and jump in exfoliating my skin with chia and Shea butter scrub and shaving my legs till smooth and using my lavender and vanilla shampoo it kinda reminds me of baby shampoo and I decided to try my new body wash of Hawaiian coconut.

I get dried off and pull my hair in a messy bun and wear something warm since its starting to get chilly,I wear a beige knitted long sleeved over sized sweater and some skinny black jeans,I did minimal makeup just some concealer to cover up my eye bags,strawberry flavored lip gloss,and mascara and head off to the cafe.

I walk in and I immediately see Joel sitting there patiently I let someone else walk in front of me and the bell jingles and I see Joel look back expecting it was me he looks so cute like a puppy patiently waiting for me.I finally decided to walk in and Joel turned back around and I swear his smile grew from ear to ear and it made my heart beat faster.I took a seat and Joel said he already ordered for us which was an avocado toast with a poached egg and orange juice.

As we waited for our order we started talking about our personal likes like 20 questions like what job we have and if we had any siblings or family that lives here in town.  I knew that Joel had a younger sibling and he used to live in Australia  and that he used to get into some trouble in middle school and he is a SONG WRITER!!!!! I cant believe it and he even invited me to go to one of his concerts in 2 weeks,im soooo excited.After talking for like 20 minutes our food finally arrived and it looked so delicious as soon as I took a bite I was like in heaven.

We took a walk around the park after our meal and the leaves were finally falling off the trees a sign of Fall.I felt a hand brushing against mine and I took hold of Joel's hand feeling a light blush going along my cheek and we walked in silent along the path of the park watching the scenery of leaves falling and birds tweeting.

Around lunch time we decided to eat at Suga's sweet tooth and I got a cinnamon crunch cupcake and a dragon fruit pink lemonade and Joel got a Caramel apple cookie and iced coffee and after that we walked me to my car and kissed my cheek and he walked away,a blush crept on my pale cheeks and I slid into my car driving home feeling so giddy.
