Chapter Four: ( Alex's Pov )
Lucas seeing Alex having a drink alone. He goes to sit with him and join him.
"Hey, Alex! Was that girl the one Sophia was talking about? What's your take on her?"
"Oh, nothing much. We had a little disagreement, but she just apologized."
"Hmm, I get it. It's important to take your time and think things through. Do you think you'll be able to patch things up?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure yet. I appreciate the apology, but I need to see if I can trust her. It might take some time." Because this girl have got a lot of guts in her.
"Totally understandable. Just remember that people make mistakes, and sometimes it's worth giving them a second chance."
"Yeah, you're right and I do remember my principles very well But i have to admit, she seems pretty smart." One of my principle is, A person when does something wrong should be given a second chance and time too if they deserve.
"Interesting. So, despite her behavior, you see some potential in her?"
"Yeah, exactly. I mean, everyone has their moments, right? I'm willing to see if she can prove herself."
"That's fair. It's good to keep an open mind. Just make sure you set clear boundaries and communicate your expectations."
"Definitely. I won't let her slide if she repeats her behavior. But for now, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt."
"Sounds like a plan.....Let's the party start now, i'm gonna go to the stage"
"Good idea....Good luck"
We tossed and then lucas stood up with his glass and went up to the stage.
"Good evening, everyone! On behalf of our team, I want to extend a warm welcome to Sophia's company. We are absolutely thrilled to embark on this exciting collaboration. Our shared values and goals make this partnership a perfect fit. Together, we can achieve great things. This collaboration brings mutual benefits, we are grateful for the trust and confidence Sophia's company has placed in us. We are committed to making this collaboration a resounding success. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Let's create something amazing together! Cheers"
Everyone claps up and shout out "CHEERS!!" rising their drinks.
"Enjoy your selves" Lucas finished his speech and got down towards where Sophia was standing.
"Hey Lucas! Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome and your inspiring speech. I'm really excited to collaborate with your company and make great things happen together!" Sophia said the moment Lucas approached her.
"You're welcome, Sophia! I'm thrilled to have you on board. Let's bring our A-game and create amazing things together. Exciting times ahead!"
"Absolutely, Lucas! I couldn't agree more. With our combined skills and dedication, I believe we can achieve remarkable results. Looking forward to a fruitful collaboration!"
"Haha, Sophia, you know what they say - it's a small world! Being a shareholder in Owen's family's company,definitely makes us quite the connected bunch. Guess we'll have to navigate this collaboration with some extra care and humor, huh?"
"No doubt, Lucas! It's funny how life brings unexpected connections. We'll handle this collaboration with a mix of professionalism. Gotta keep things interesting, right?" ( laughing)
"Hey guys, couldn't help but overhear the conversation. Sophia, get ready for some friendly sibling rivalry in the workplace! Lucas and I have a knack for keeping things lively. Let's make this collaboration unforgettable!" Owen said giving a kiss to Sophia.
"Haha, Owen, I'm up for the challenge! Bring on the sibling rivalry and let's make work feel like a fun-filled adventure. Ready to create some unforgettable memories together!" Sophia laughs and replies.
"Hey! Owen and Mr Bennett, mind if I borrow Sophia for a few minutes? I promise I won't keep her for too long!" Harper said nervously, she don't want to ruin their conversation but she wanted to congratulate her bestie and leave as she was already feeling uncomfortable.
"Of course, Harper! Go ahead and steal Sophia for a few minutes. Just make sure to bring her back in one piece." Owen joked and they all laughed.
"No worries, Miss Stone! Feel free to borrow Sophia for a little while. We'll keep things running smoothly here. Take your time!" Lucas added.
"Thanks,I appreciate your understanding. I'll make sure to bring Sophia back soon. See you guys in a bit!"
Sophia and Harper then walk away to a nearby empty table.
"Hey Sophia! Congrats on your amazing achievement! You totally rocked it! I'm so proud of you!" Harper gave Sophia a big hug.
"Aww, thanks Harper! I really appreciate your kind words and support. It means a lot to me!"
"You're welcome, Sophia! Just keep shining bright" Harper encouraged her and gave her a big smile.
"I will...so how did the things end up with Mr Morgan???"
"I'm not sure, do you remember when I said I was dealing with a jerk when I came inside?"
"Yeah....which got you late, how can I forget"
"I misunderstood, that guy was Mr Morgan. I messed up and I think he is too upset to offer me help" Harper said in a low voice with the sad tone which have regrets.
"WHATTT!!! Tell me this is a joke, you really did messed up!" Sophia being so surprised of course I can't blame her. She did what she could to help me out.
"You are not helping" Harper said and releases a breath out.
"I'm sorry" Sophia sigh out.
"You're not at fault and by the way I came to say bye too I feel tired."
"Ooh, Let me walk you out"
"No, its okay I can do it by myself, You should go, Owen is waiting for you" Harper gave her a sweet smile.
"Be careful and call me when you reach home" Sophia gave her hug and walk away.
When Harper was on her way to her car, she found Alex talking to someone on a phone outside and tries to pass him like a shadow.
"Well, well, well, look who's leaving the party early! Miss Stone, you're such a wild one, aren't you?" When I was ending my call, i saw Harper leaving, passed me like she didn't see me. For sure she did saw me though.
"Haha, Mr Morgan, you caught me! I guess I'm just not cut out for the late-night party scene. Not my cup of tea!"
"Seriously, Miss Stone? I don't have time for games. I just wanted to tell you that, we can meet at my office tomorrow at 9 am. But don't expect me to be thrilled about it."
"Sure, Mr Morgan" Harper replied with a fake smile to show how politely she was although it was strange,what could have changed his mind!!! Bastard.
I then hed back inside leaving Harper standing there no doubt abusing me cause tomorrow is weekend.
