Well its officially that time of the year. The time that all kids dread, or well at least I know I dread. Its back to school time, and school has never been something that I enjoyed, And it wasn't a reason so typical like Not liking the work, its more along the lines of I cant make friends. Its hard for me to do things like greet my teachers or introduce myself to people and even get my lunch, because I cant talk, I physically cant talk. Hi My names Emmet Sorrel and I'm a Mute, and I've been mute since I was a child. Something I've hated the most amongst many other things about myself.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP* I Sat up and rubbed my eyes, before leaning over to shut my alarm off. Yawning I threw the covers off myself and swung my legs over the edge of my bed and stretched as my legs dangled (Yes I know I'm Short). Reaching over to my nightstand Id grab my glasses and phone. putting my glasses on id check my phone only to see no notifications. *"What's the point of even having this thing"* I thought as I sighed, climbing myself out of bed. Moving towards my door it opened on its own as my step dad Evan stood, leaning against the door frame. "Hey bud you ready for school?" He asked with a smile. I stood there and glared at him and he laughed. Evans been my step dad Since I was four so he knew how to read my faces and could tell I was being playful and he laughed softly. "I know you aren't but hey I got a feeling this year will be different, different in a good way" He said positively with a smile. I pulled out my phone and started typing for a moment before showing him the screen. "You've said that every year since 5th grade" He chuckled again. 'Well one of these times I gotta be right" He said as his smile grew even more. A small smile appeared on my face as I just shook my head and moved past him to the bathroom to shower.
Entering The bathroom I closed the door behind me and locked it. Turning towards the mirror I started stripping, pulling my shirt over my head causing my hair to become even messier, which I tried to tame a little in the mirror before giving up. I had short slightly curly brown hair that just loved being a nuisance. My skin made me to look like a vampire with how pale I was, and my glasses... Man I was just a mess, the glasses would be temporary though as once my wolf came in my eyesight would increase, well that's what the doctor said at least. Once naked id step into the hot shower. A sigh leaving my lips as the hot water washed over me. The shower always felt like safe place for me, a place to wash away the days events. After taking way too long of a shower I stepped out, I'd grab a towel from the shelf and dry myself off for a bit before wrapping the towel around my waist and leaving the bathroom.
Entering my room id start rummaging through my closet for an outfit. Eventually settling on a pair of skinny jeans a tee shirt with a beige colored sweater over it. Pulling my phone out to check the time and nearly had a heart attack. The bus was going to be at my stop in minutes. Rushing I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs ignoring the protesting from my step dads to eat breakfast and ran towards the bus stop. With the stop in sight I could see the bus was already there. *"Oh thank the Moon Goddess*' I thought as I got closer. Then the bus doors closed and the bus started to move. *"No No No No No!*" The bus took off and I stopped in my tracks, a look of defeat on my face as I leaned over pressing my hands into my knees as I tried to catch my breath, trying to figure out how I was going to get to school until I was startled out of thought by a Horn. Looking up id be greeted by the bus, it had traveled a bit away but was now stopped. Wondering why it had stopped and if they saw me. I started running again to the bus. This time I did make it. Forgetting all about my thoughts of how the bus driver saw me and began panicking about the looks and stares I was always getting from others, the nasty sly comments they'd make about me as I found a seat. Luckily everyone was doing there own thing as it was the first day and I was thankful for that. *"Probably just used all my luck for the school year"* I thought as the bus lurched forward and the ride to school began.
Getting off the bus was a relief, its just so loud and chaotic, then again all social interaction with or near me are chaotic to me. With an already tired sigh I made my way into the school and to my locker. Opening It up I dumped all the books from my bag into the locker and checked my schedule on my phone before grabbing the books id need. I was about to close my locker when it was slammed by someone else. Startling me causing me to jump as I turned to see none other then Aiden West. He had his annoying grin that he wore everywhere. "Oh did I scare you?" He asked knowing full well that I cant respond. "What's that? Oh you cant speak, Oh yeah that's right, your a mute freak!" He said laughing as people began to watch and laughing with him. Most people at this school are just humans but there's a decent mix of my packmates here but they're usually just as bad as Aiden. "Cant believe your mute, Why don't you just say something you freak?!" People where watching and laughing from they're lockers as I started to shake I was panicking, my breathing was getting worse and worse. "God your pathetic, and to make it worse your probably a fa-" Aiden didn't get to finish as he was slammed into, well slammed for him but just a bump for none other then Damien Hughes. He had bumped into Aiden and kept walking. Aiden didn't like that he was interrupted. "Got something you wanna say?" He asked, visibly angry as his jaw ticked. Everyone watched but no one laughed anymore and I was thankful for that even though Damien most likely didn't do it for me. Damien stop in his tracks before turning around and walking straight back to Aiden until they where face to face... or well face to chest as Damien was substantially taller. "Got something you wanna do about it" He said coldly. Aiden's anger disappeared as was replaced with fear but he tried hard to hide it. "Whatever" he said as he turned and walked away. Damien gave a sickeningly evil grin towards Aiden's direction. Me? I stood frozen the whole time watching these events unfold. I was in shock until I was snapped back when Damien walked past me staring down at me as he walked. His face emotionless as usual but I knew that, that's why I wasn't looking at his face, I was looking into his eyes, trying my best to read him but his eyes... His grey eyes swirling with emotions but I couldn't read any of them before he turned to face ahead as he kept walking. I let out a sigh as I was a bit frustrated, I'm usually very good at reading emotions but Damien, Damien's different I don't know why but I can never read him, so I mostly stay out of his way. Trying to shrug off the situation I made my way to my first class finding a seat in the back corner hoping to stay distanced away from most of the other people and I was fortunate enough that my plan worked. The rest of classes went all the same since it was the first day of school. Teachers just talk about the curriculum and blabber on about stuff no one cares about. When lunch came around I just skipped the lunch room and got a snack from the vending machine and ate by the cafeteria. I ate my snack while scanning the café searching through all the tables trying to find Damien He was so cold but While I felt repulsed and didn't want to look at anyone, Damien had my interest. I can normally read everyone but I've never tried to read Damien until earlier today, and I was intrigued on why I couldn't. while scanning I found him, he was sitting alone eating, which kind of surprised me but made sense he was pretty scary. I finished my snack and threw the wrapper away when I got back to where I was sitting I went to look back at Damien but he was gone. My brows furrowed in confusion before raising in fear as a voice spoke next to me. "You know its rude to stare right" He said as I turned my head to look at him a slight blush of embarrassment filled my cheeks as he walked off down the hall. The rest of the school day was the same, just boring talk about the course until the school bell rang and everyone was dismissed.
Making my way outside and started walking to the mall for work, I had the last two weeks off to get ready for school but today I start again. After a ten minute walk I reached the mall, taking two escalators I made it to the third floor and into the store. It was an alt style clothing store that sold mostly girl clothes but had a category for men's as well, but that's why I worked there so I had a smaller chance or running into people from school. Making my way to the back I clocked in and grabbed my badge and fitting room key. Walking out to the store floor I froze, Damien was in the store sifting threw the men's section. Its like he has a sixth sense for when I'm looking at him because he turns his head to look right at me. He definitely saw my look of confusion as he turned to face me giving me his cold grin as he pointed at his name tag... *"He works here!?"*
