278 AC, Second moon turn. Season: Summer Location: At Starfall in Dorne.

Third POV.

Here at Starfall during the peaceful reign of Aerys II of his name. In the early part of the year 278 AC, at the birth of a child to house Dayne of Starfall. The heir of house Dayne lord Uther Dayne says "How is my lady wife Maester Harald."

The Maester was a mid aged man almost in his fifties. He had hazel eyes and chestnut brown hair that was graying in some places. The Maester responded.

"My Lord, your lady wife is fine just recovering from her labor. The child is quite the healthy babe. Though I'm sorry my Lord it was a girl. I know you were probably expecting a son to have an heir for after you are lord."

The lord Uther replied.

"Maester what are you talking about? This child is my heir, and like most of Dorne we of house Dayne follow the Rhoynar tradition of the eldest child being the heir. I know my family had you accepted into my house service when my wife and I wed, for our Maester had just passed on and you are relatively new. That you come from the reach like many Maesters and was brought in by my wife and her family.

But do not presume to tell me which gender my heir should be. We are in Dorne and this is a Dornish tradition. You should accept that now."

The Maester then said.

"My apologies my Lord I spoke out of turn and should not have said that. But I thought Lord Redwyne would have wished for his grandson to inherit over his granddaughter."

Lord Uther responded.

"Hmm on this matter my Lady Mother and Lord Redwyne have already negotiated when I married my wife that we would keep to dornish tradition of inheritance. Also I doubt Lord Redwyne will care since a son hasn't even been born yet to my lady and I. Now that the matter has been settled. I will be going into the birthing chamber to speak with my wife. Please give me some time alone to speak with her. We shall continue to discuss later her recovery and when it's all alright to try again for another child."

"Yes my Lord." The maester says back. Then he shuffle's away heading off to his work area by the library.

At this time the young heir enter the room on the side of the hall. When Uther enter he closed the door behind him and then made his way to sit next to the bed. His wife Morgana Dayne nee Redwyne who is a bit pale from going into labor. She is a fair young woman who is only a little younger than him. Now twenty-name days she has chocolate brown hair compared to the usual reddish brown hair that house Redwyne has. Also she has light blue eyes and the freckles that house Redwyne is known for. In her arms is the small bundle of joy that is the newly born child. The babe is like most babies a bit chubby from the baby fat. She seem to have inherited her mother's freckles, though she has less than her mother with her freckles being just on and around her nose. She has the Dayne fair skin that's like pale porcelain. The small tuft of hair sticking out from the top of the baby's head is her mother's chocolate brown wavy almost curling hair. The baby is bundled in purple cloth that is the house color of the Daynes. Then lord Uther says.

"Honestly the nerve of that maester trying to suggest that I change house Dayne laws of inheritance and name a son who hasn't been born yet, over the eldest child which is my daughter. Sorry my lady I did not mean to rant at you. So my love, what did you want to name our daughter?"

"It's alright my Lord husband. I understand that the Dornish have different laws of inheritance. For our daughter I feel the name Medea is fitting. It certainly is a unique name." Morgana replies.

"Medea. Medea Dayne, future Lady Dayne head of house Dayne, ruler of Starfall and all of house dayne's lands. But for now she will be the heir after me. My lady wife, do you know if she has opened her eyes yet?" Uther response.
